I know my standardized test scores are mediocre compared to the average applicants to these universities (around the 20-40 percentile), but can my GPA make up for it? My essays and LORs will be pretty nice, as I'm confident that the two teachers I got to write my letters (social studies and biology) wrote really nice letters. I also have some nice hooks with a whole LOT of ECs and community service. So now that you know all this about me, what do you think?

I beg you- please look beyond my standardized test scores when chancing me

Thank you for your time I greatly appreciate it- WILL CHANCE BACK!

And for my midyear report I will have all As in my classes (4 APs, 1 Honors, 1 Study Hall)

I would say they’re all reaches, except for rice and vanderbilt, you have a decent shot for those. (Low Reach/High Match)

Chance me here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1435955-chance-me-final-college-list.html</a></p>

ECs are solid. I would try to squeeze in stand by testing for SAT/ACT this first month or two and you would be a very good applicant to all these schools.

looks pretty good

I can’t take anymore tests its too late lol. Considering that I’m within reach at most of these schools and I’m applying to 8 schools, do you think I have a good chance of getting into at least one of them?

honestly, i think in a case such as yours your SATs are overlooked, becuase not many have run 2 websites and graduated high in 3 years hahah so i definitely think you good into at least one of the elites if not several

chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1438077-chance-bc-nd-uva-umich-bu-wustl-please.html#post15254960</a></p>

thanks so much for the chance- I really wish decisions didn’t take 4 whole months to process  the wait is going to kill me.

bump- please chance me o_O

I think you have a VERY strong shot at HYP, simply because of your personal/ECs are so extraordinary, regardless of your circumstances. The low income status compensates for your subpar scores. Your drive and initiative for success is very clear in your application. I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into one or more of your top schools. Bring up your SATs and you’ll be all set. I think you’ll do fine.

Chance me back? Good luck.

thanks for the chance- bump!!!

I’d say you have a shot at all of those schools except Wharton, Columbia, and possibly, Brown.

so are those schools just completely out of the question?

@oohtobeagooner, no, you just have terrible chances, <15% under 15% of getting in.

well what what would the “not reaches” be? I mean hypothetically if you think about it 10% is still an alright chance. If you think about it, if I have a 10% chance at all of these schools, .9^8 is 0.43 which means I have at least more than a 50% chance of getting into at least one of these elite schools.

bump…

You’ll get into many because of GPA/First Generation Status/Low Income

Duke - low reach/match
