Lol, any counselor would be scared to death if they saw DataBox's schedules ;)

@Cosine- My school has 4 periods, 1.5 hours each. Each semester has 4 periods, so 8 classes throughout the year. My school also only expects students to take 1 class each for Math, English, History, and Science. According to their logic, a student will take a combination of 2 academic classes per semester, along with 2 "elective" credits in career pathways or just EC, such as healthcare, arts, business, music etc.

I doubled up in science and math this year, while taking 1 foreign language class and 1 elective, and my counselor thinks that I will not be able to handle the load. Keep in mind that I live in a small town in North Georgia.

I'm sorry if my post does not sound legitimate to you; I wish I had the same opportunities as you guys have had. I only made this topic to find out whether there was any significant problems with my schedule... for example, I didn't know whether taking Chemistry and Physics at the same time would be a problem.

Thanks for all of your input... I think I'm pretty sure that I'll stand my ground and force my counselor to keep my schedule like this... and yes, my counselor did freak out and call my parents.

@cosineEver heard of block scheduling????????????

Are academic classes like... not-elective classes? Because only two non-elective classes seems rather... deplorable.

If it makes you feel any better, 7 out of 8 of my courses are college credited.

Basically academic classes are math, science, history, and english

And to give you a little excerpt of how much faith our teachers have in us:

"'If anyone in the school CAN do it, it would be Jake!' She also said…he’s just not going to have any life outside of schoolwork. So take all of that into consideration"

This is coming from my honors biology teacher freshman year. I slept through the entire class and still became the first person to achieve above a grade of over 100 in the class.... not to mention that I know 4+ people who are already taken my same classes and have succeeded.

This makes me depressed.

^agree with u ansar

That's about the usual sophomore schedule at my school, excpet that our school doesn't seriously offer a pre-AP phys. course, so most people wait for junior or senior year to do the AP one. If you can I would suggest taking a language.

haha, my counselor was freaking out last year that i wasnt taking enough academic subjects.. i went into a meeting and some how came out signed up for AP bio..my mom made me drop it
