Our son completed his portion of the Common App in early August and his teachers have successfully uploaded letters of recommendations. Sadly, our small, rural school district just decided to attempt to transfer data from one online grade book program to another mid-September. Needless to say, our schools are unable to upload transcripts to Common App and we can't get a firm idea of when they will be available. We can send his transcript through June 2014 electronically, but our guidance counselor has said it will send a "red flag" to college admissions officers since it doesn't have his senior course schedule, etc. on it. The earliest deadline we have is November 1st, but are concerned about getting the applications early enough for on campus housing availability at these schools. So the question is whether to wait until closer to the deadline to see if we can get a complete, up to date transcript, or is it better to send the one through June 2014? Thanks in advance for any insight into this predicament.

They could send the June 2014 transcript and the GC could mention in the school report about the delay in senior transcripts and that they will send the updated ASAP. I would probably hassle them into doing that for one or two schools where you are most concerned about the timing.

Sounds like good advice. Thanks so much! :)
