and I know it would be the logical language to take since I've learned most of it and since I'm already forgetting it, but I wanted to try something new. What languages do you guys recommend? Which languages are less/more demanding?

I remember at the start of winter quarter there was something on myucla about renewing the football tickets and entering the basketball lottery. I submitted all my stuff for tickets then, but it said something about how there's going to be a first lottery for all the students who tried to get tickets last year, and then if you're not picked in the first one you get put into the second one. Do any of you know when that first lottery for basketball tickets takes place or when we'll know the results?

I walk kind of slow so I am considering getting a bike. Do many students have bikes on campus or is it too inconvenient/not necessary? Is bike theft common (even with a bike lock)?

there are bikers, but you have to be dedicated and not averse to either going very out of your way to avoid stairs, or just carrying your bike up the stairs. biking is not the easiest mode of transportation here. if you're a decent skateboarder, i'd suggest that. those are much more portable wheels than a bike ;)

scooters are also fairly popular as well. if you've got mad skills, try a unicycle, and if you're mega rich, hook yourself up with a segway!

such as... what happens if you don't get accepted as a biz-econ major after two years?
And how do the biz-econ graduates do? Good salary and job satisfaction?

I haven't been accepted/rejected yet, but I will be a junior transfer, and I was wondering about available housing for families. It is just my wife and I, no children, but she would not be attending the school. I am not clear on whether ucla offers housing plans for families, or if we would have to rely on off-site options. either way is fine, it's just that the former would be easier.

If you don't get into the biz-econ major, you can try to get into international econ or you can just do normal econ.

How well the biz econ graduates do depends on YOU more than the major. It was only until after I came to UCLA that I realized that the major alone does not ensure your success. Unless you have a stellar 3.8 GPA, a lot of your success depends on what you do to make yourself stand out.

I'm planning to get involved with student government (USAC) at UCLA, so what should I do when school starts in fall? Because I know you can't just sign up for that just like a club.

well... one of my guy friends asked a girl by folding 1000 paper cranes. granted, he had the help of about 30 people folding cranes in class the week before. it's a miracle she didn't notice... and that none of the teachers cared ;)

You can always be nerdy and make a flower or heart out of polar graphs on a graphing calculator. Or better yet, make a program that says "Will you go to prom with me? Press F1 for yes, F2 for no" and loop it until F1 is pressed.

I looked up the AP credit thing on the website, but do we just get random credit and they satisfy nothing?

More units = the quicker you hit sophomore standing (or perhaps you already will). This gives you the chance of an earlier enrollment time.
