Current USC rising junior wanting to do study abroad fall semester senior year?

hi there
I wasnt really too sure if I should post this on the study abroad forum or the USC forum so i’m going to post this in both places haha so sorry to those of you (if any) see this twice. I’m currently a rising junior at USC - university of southern california - marshall school of business. I’m a transfer so my sophomore year was my first year at USC. I’ve always wanted to do study abroad and its just been difficult trying to figure it out and fitting it in with my course plan and schedule because if any of you are transfers, you’ll know how difficult it can be with the units and credits nonsense!

I know typically students study abroad junior year, predominantly spring semester of their junior year, but thats just not possible for me. The only time i can potentially do it is fall semester junior year and i was just wondering what peoples thoughts are on that? And particularly if anyone has done it/ has any advice, suggestions, any info at all. Thanks.

Where do you want to study? As long as you are at USC for one year, I think it should be ok. If you are full pay, I suggest study in the summer is best. If you study in regular term, for some programs, at least the ones my daughter looked at, you have to pay both tuition fees at home and expenses abroad which can be costly.

@drgoogle thank you for your reply! I was looking into schools in Spain and France, primarily HEC, ESCP for Paris and ESADE for Barcelona. Yes I just completed an entire year at USC, and I will be completing the entirety of the next year (my junior year) at USC too, so I would’ve finished 2 years at USC, then study abroad fall semester of my senior year and then come back for my final semester at SC. I’m not really big on the football games and all so thats not a factor for me. But ahh thats interesting, I thought the cost was more or less the same as opposed to additional expenditure. Do you know which ones she looked at? Was it through the Marshall international exchange study abroad program? thank you for your help!

It depends on the school and the major. She was film major at USC and she was looking at mostly UK schools I think. London is pretty expensive. So check with your department.
