Boatfoot, sounds like your daughter is extremely ambitious! Good for her. My son was enrolled and paid a downpayment for U Chicago. However, I think he’s much better matched at Auburn. He’s involved in Campus Ministry at the Weslyan Foundation–very important to him. He’s in the Engineering program at AU–something Chicago doesn’t even offer.

Your daughters school list is impressive. Hope to see her at AU, however. War Eagle!

Not a word, today, momofsongbird, and I am annoyed with you. There is a general meeting for all parents tomorrow for college prep that my H and I are going to, so now I have to decide if I should try to ferret out info!!! On the one hand, I want my D to be able to come home and deliver the good news, but, on the other hand, I cannot stand the thought of the packet (if we are going to get one) being lost on the mail room floor at the high school!!! Momofsongbird, glad to have someone to commiserate with!

Just wondering whether it is fairly unusual for there to be a 3 point jump (up or down) within a state from one year to the next? Child had 220 and last year our state’s cut-off was 218 so a 3 point jump would knock her out

I would say that it’s very unusual for a big state to have a 3 point upward jump. The highest NY has had in recent years is 219, and currently it’s 218, so it would be unlikely that it would jump to 221 to knock out your D. :)

*Because of this site, we became aware of full scholarships for NMFinalists, and our older son is now enrolled at Auburn. Son #2 is looking at Alabama (because Auburn doesn’t have his program.) *

Has your son toured Bama yet? He’ll see that Bama has a lot more private room Honors Super Suites than Auburn does which allows an NMF to have one all 4 years (Auburn has 300 honors super suites bedrooms while Bama has over 2000 honors super suites bedrooms. It’s a big plus to be able to stay on campus all 4 years in a private room Super Suite. :)

there have been hints that 218 makes it (someone’s SIL works for a CA school and said it is the cutoff; someone w/217 did not make it; one person said 218 worked, then retracted the statement), so it still seems to be all over the place

Hope people will keep on sending in scores; every piece of info helps.
