No harm in staying on the wait list to see what happens BUT if you get that call you will lose the deposit from the committed school. We all go in knowing that though.

NYU is 500 + 1000K deposit for housing. NYU is so far behind Case in terms of interest. I hope Case can accept me soon. Ahh!

My goodness that’s a huge deposit, then again it’s NY. Everything is so expensive there. Congrats on NYU that is a great school! What are you studying?
I am studying Environmental Science 
But yes, it is so expensive, around 45K for me to attend. For case it would be around 24K. And I truly believe NYU is overrated. No offense

Well, it wasn’t my son so that’s disappointing to hear. Do you know if the email went to the parent as well as the student?
Do you know any details about that student? Such as which major or if they sent a LOCI.
If someone gets off the CWRU waitlist this week - will they need to decide by May 1st?
Usually how many days does CWRU give to the accepted waitlist students to accept and pay deposit?
I’m not completely positive, though from what I’ve heard they are generally very quick offers, meaning you have to reply within about 48 hours with a decision. Of course this is just from what I’ve heard.
There was a request about the option of taking gap semester and register in spring. I am not choosing that option, but would be interested to know the thoughts from the group
Considering just saying yes to show interest because they stated that it would not change their consideration for admitting into the fall semester. However, I will make my final choice after listening to tomorrow’s interest meeting.

The way I read it is no one will get off waitlist for Fall 2021 this week. My son is very upset. He definitely is not taking Spring 2022.
Our thought is to pay the deposit for Carleton college or Northeastern or BU (still deciding) and wait it out for CRWU or NYU coming out of waitlist
Does anyone have any idea on what them offering spring semester spots means in terms of fall semester admissions? Does this mean that they are offering more or less spots from the waitlist for fall? Will it take longer for them to admit students for fall? Has this happened before?
I think many people haven’t accepted yet because they are waiting on other schools’ waitlists. Come 5/1 everyone will accept or not, and then maybe something.

we are going to deny spring semester option, its either now or never, cannot take gap semester for it.
did you send in a letter of continued interest and/or attend their virtual sessions?
