anyone???

I think that will count as a c in a regular class, but I am not certain.

1) No D or F in any A-G course regardless.

2) GPA of 3.0 or above for both 1st&2nd semester of your senior year

I think so!!!!!
You need to tell them why though...
Don't wait until June and then tell them, unless that grade is just a progress report-(meaning it will not appear on your transcript). Then you don't need to inform them!!
GOOD LUCK!!!

i hear my teacher does not give lower than c's at the end of semester, i hope its true, anyways gl to everyone else too

My son's friend had his admissions revoked from UC Santa Cruz because of D in Honor's Physics. Do whatever you have to do to not get the D. Good luck.

I'd revoke you 0=]

The only grade that matters is the final grade. If you get an F for two quarters and get the C for the semester, you're good to go.

IFFF you get a D, mail them and call the counselor of the school or something. In other words, beg and kiss up to them or say bye bye to the acceptance. You can also tell them you will take the class over at a local community college over the summer to make it up. This seems to work often, but this is UCSD, a higher ranked UC.

um.... my teacher is like 70 years old and he doesnt teach, he doesnt know the material himself and he makes the tests uber hard and we have like a test every week. go figure, i dont id be that stupid, u need to screw urself

It doesn't matter how incompetent your teacher is. You're going to get into college and find that some teachers don't care at all about you or teaching you. They're there for the research. That's reality. If you can't deal with that, then you shouldn't even be going to any of the UC's. No one is going to hold your hand for you.

Stop making excuses. Work hard, bring your grade up. If you can't do that, you're not going to do too well in college.

I agree. If your teacher doesn't teach well, then read the textbook yourself. I've been taking community college classes, and I had one teacher who couldn't speak english well or teach. I took the initiative and read the book on my own. Because this is my senior year in high school, I didn't put much effort and received a B. I only got accepted to UCI and UCR, while you got accepted to UCSD. You should be way above my level.

edit: Oh yea, the class was also physics. I <3 physics!

gg its one class, u guys blasting me on one class, yea but high school is not college and just reading the textbook doesnt help cause the textbook doesnt do a very good job explaining stuff, everlasting13 ur rubbing me off on the wrong way

AP physics is designed to be a college class. You should have a college level textbook. If that textbook does a bad job, it is your responsibility to either go to the library and read the material in another textbook, use an AP physics prep book, or buy one of the student study guides that are available to buy with most college textbooks. A lot of those materials are available in a public library, so it's not like you necessary have to pay for them.

We're not blasting you. You have a responsibility and instead of taking initiative and raising your grade, you're complaining about how you have no alternatives and how the D isn't your fault. It is your fault. I was getting a C- in AP physics at the start of the year, but I bought that up to an A- by the end of the semester. Am I smarter than you? Probably not. But am I working for it more than you are? Probably.

The conditions for acceptance aren't just made up for fun. They're there because if you can't handle getting at least a C in your high school classes, then you're going to do very badly in a competitive school like UCSD. What you need to do right now is stop making excuses and raise your grade.

changbj88, are you asian?. If you are shouldn't you be a physic wiz?

the thing is half of the class is like failing so, yes i am asian, i'll bring it up to a C, but if for some reason i cant well then i[ll figure something out, plus its physics C , trust me i can handle college courses, their theoretical physics is just not my thing, i appreciate all of ur feedback

Half of the class is failing? Sounds like a weeder class. Good luck in weeder courses.

nah the class is full of smart kids and hardworking kids, we got whole mess of kids going to cal, ucla, usc, etc
