I have a 70% in my statistics class and my final is tomorrow. I’m almost certain my grade will fall to a D, so I’m wondering if that’s going to jeopardize my CSU admissions at all when it comes time to submit my transcript at the end of the year. From what I understand, I fulfilled the A-G requirements for math already (correct me if I’m wrong, but I took Alg. 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, along with Earth Science, Bio, and Chem), and so I don’t think this changes my A-G eligibility, it just means I got my first D.
Also: Sorry, I meant to post this in the California Colleges category.
In general, a D or F in any a-g course (regardless if you have fulfilled your a-g requirements) could result in your acceptance being rescinded. Some CSU’s make this a hard line and will rescind your acceptance and some will be lenient, so you need to contact each CSU to see what they recommend and how to proceed. Most CSU’s will ask for final transcripts in July and you do not want to wait that long to find out you have no school to attend. I suggest once you get your final semester grade, you contact the CSU’s and figure out your next step.
@Gumbymom Okay, thank you! Does this change at all if my first semester grade is a D, but my second semester grade is a C or higher?
Again, it depends on the school but some will wait to see your 2nd semester grades before making a decision either way. Work hard to get that grade to a C- if possible.
@Gumbymom Okay, thanks again. You’re always a really great help here!
