@collegegal17 It’s not the aggregate of alums – it’s the number who go the extra step and become involved in ASC interviewing. For instance, in my area there are roughly 1,600 active alumni contacts from my alma mater. About 50 of them actually interview students.
My ED parent agreement hasn’t been downloaded either. Also for those of you who had interviews how did it go? I got the head of the Alumni network for South Florida and she kept slipping up and acting like I was in. She kept saying “oh when your at Dartmouth…” and things like “you’ll fit right in.” I also made her laugh a bunch and we talked about a lot of different things.
@binky17 Yes, on the CommonApp!
Will Dartmouth view your financial aid before admissions decisions?
A few days ago I received an email from the financial aid office asking for clarification on something I goofed up on my profile (a minor mistake, thankfully). Would they be looking at my financial aid if I were rejected? Or am I just reading too much into this?
I live in southern California too. A friend and I applied early and we both received interviews from different people. I was told that having or not having an interview won’t greatly affect an applicant.
Does Dartmouth only accept a specific number of students from a school? There are three kids in my school applying early to Dartmouth. One for athletics and two including myself without athletics. I am very similar to the other non–athlete applicant applying and just worried that they might not take both if either.
On the application checklist, is the interview report supposed to show as received?
@17staffene my dad was out and he’s in charge of our finances so I never ended up filling out my CSS profile. However, I’ve been receiving emails from the FA office asking me to complete it. Pic: http://prntscr.com/diad9m. Hoping its a good sign and I got my CSS turned in this afternoon.
I have no idea but I interviewed November 14 and still don’t know if she submitted it or not
@ebethqnguyen i don’t think there’s a space for it seeing as not everyone gets an interview/they’re not required
@Erikj28 Haha i already told my basketball coach that I might have to leave practice early
@BGMuleri I got the same thing, but being a pessimist, I assumed it was just an automatic email that went out to literally everyone who didn’t have everything in
My grades and ACT aren’t that great, but it was because of other circumstances that I forgot to mention. Is it too late to?
@GiddyHiddy …decisions have already been made
@dartagnaneb Ok, I mean, my counselor wrote about it, but I wanted it to be reassured
Does anyone know if there is a place on the common app that shows if they received the report written by the alumni interviewer?
Also what is the optional report on the common app? It says all my materials from my guidance counselor were downloaded by Dartmouth 11/1 and then there is an optional report that they downloaded 11/23, which I think is separate from the counselor recommendation.
thanks that makes sense!
@laxer2215 At least in my case, the optional report is my first quarter grades.
@giddyhiddy if your counselor mentioned it, you should be fine
@laxer2215 I don’t think so. My interviewer said that everything was through Dartmouth. And when I check my app it doesn’t say one has been submitted so I don’t think it tells you
