My daughter called the local rep listed on the card for an interview and left two messages. Never got a call back. Then she called the head of the area and he told her to send him via email a resume and that he would get back to her. That was 2 weeks ago. It has now been almost 4 weeks. What the heck is going on? Are they making judements themselves about whether or not she will even be accepted based on her stats?

I doubt they are ignoring her for such a reason. My S had a lot of trouble getting his interview, too. Apparently, we live in an area with few G'town alums. Because the interviewer failed to return calls, he contacted the admissions office, too. Finally, after several weeks, it all came together. The interviewer was very pleasant, but the time was brief because she had to go pick up her kids at day care. She told him this was the first time she had ever conducted an admissions interview! BTW, he got in EA.

Oh, thanks. I will let my D know that it's not HER. I just don't really understand why the regional guy had her send HIM a resume and then not get back to her either. Should she call the admissions office? I don't want the interviewers to get in trouble and then hold it against her...

I would say call the admissions office, because my friend had the same problem and everything did come together in the end. Sometimes, it is simply because it's the holiday season as well, and EVERYONE is finishing their APPS now. Plus since GU requires interviews from all applicants, think of how many interviews that is for the alums to do. =] If you call the office, they will get on the Alumni Chair a bit and hopefully push the interview through sooner! I doubt the interviewers will hold it against her at all, because I had to push my interview through too!

Both me and my friend were accepted EA too if that helps =]

I had a similar problem. I actually never got contacted by my "interviewer," so I tried to contact the head of the local committee. When I finally got in touch with him, he wasn't much help. I then got in touch with my regional admissions director and explained my situation. I never got an interview, but I was accepted EA. So to answer your question, the fact that you haven't been contacted has nothing to do with your daughter's stats.

Call the name on the card again. I had to call a bunch of times before I eventually caught the guy when he was home. His wife kept saying he'd call me back, but that never happened. You really have to talk to the person directly. He was busy and travelling all over the place, I wasn't very high on his priority list.

When I eventually did have the interview, which was 6 weeks after I initially tried to contact him, he thanked me for my persistence and patience. Ended up being my best interview, I think.

dudes, are we suppposed to call them? or do they contact us regarding an interview, now im confused .....

That's not true. I never had an interview, and I was admitted EA.

...lol they do require it from everyone who is offered one. so I guess I stand corrected? Its posted on the site though..and obviously there are always exceptions..so congratulations to you?

i'm confused. so after you send in part I of the application, g'town officials contact you for interview information? i sent in mine toward the end of dec and still have yet to hear from any GTown official. should i be scared? i'm really looking forward to interview..maybe that'll help my case =[

no officials contact you, they'll mail you a card with your alumni interviewer information on it. then you'll be expected to contact that person to schedule an interview. and remember if you sent it end of dec, they were probably on break and are just getting back this week. Also this is when EVERYONE sends in their apps last minute, so they're probably a bit backed in processing everyone's application. =] so I wouldn't be worried
