So i'm a junior transfer student to a college. I'm living off campus because I missed the deadline to apply for on campus housing. The place i'm living in is very nice, close to campus, beautiful pool, nice basketball court, etc. I did the random roommate thing and hoped for the best. I got 3 roommates who when I talked to them told me they knew each other. Mom was apprehensive about me living with them at first, but I said naw they seem like good dudes. 2 of them are brothers. So when I moved in thats when I learned that these guys had known each other their whole lives and live right next door to each other. This again made my mom worried that they'd isolate me. Once again I was like naw its fine. I was wrong. I'm an outgoing person, so I try to join stuff and get involved with campus activities, clubs, etc. Trying to meet people, which as a transfer is difficult. My roommates on the other hand just go to the campus for school, come home, cook, and control the tv. Once again I don't have a problem with that, what I do have an issue with is one has a gf. At first I was like ok cool, a nice, chill girl to hang out with, perhaps she's a soroity girl with cool friends who can come over. Wrong again. This girl is the meanest person i've ever encountered, she's loud, obnoxious, she literally cried when I changed jersey shore to football, and not that smart. She's over 24/7 despite her living in a nicer off campus area. It didn't bug me until I would find her at my house all alone with no one around. How she got in when the bf and the other roommates have class at that time I'm still trying to figure out. She basically lives here and gives me the death stare when I ask to change the channel of the tv. While that may not seem as bad this is. Whenever one roommate has to poo the other 2 roommates will go into that persons bathroom and watch him take a poo. LIke stare at the dude taking a poo. It really creeps me out and I no longer feel comfortable living in this apartment. Should I change roommates?

… what the… is this legitimate or are you ■■■■■■■■? I can’t even tell.

If that’s real, that’s seriously disturbing and I would move out as soon as humanly possible. That is creepy as ****.

nope not trolling. I know it sounds weird. On friday, one roommate had left to go back home, the one with the gf, so it was me and 2 others. So I was drinking and chilling and trying to watch my schools football team on espn. One went into the bathroom and the other followed him in there. Then they called to me and were like dude come in here. I was like no. And they were like bro this is why we can’t hang out this is where we conduct our business and decide where were gonna hang out. I freaked the f out. and didnt move from my seat.

This is too weird for me to offer a response. Btw for the future, paragraphs so it’s actually readable.

…Quickly and quietly pack your stuff and get the heck out of there!

I’d definitely write an advance directive until you figure out if you want to move.

I know I should have broken it up into paragraphs, but I was in full vent mode so didn’t really feel the need to do so. I apologize.

Like don’t get me wrong the area I live in is very nice, the roommates are just horrible. RioBravo, what is an advance directive?

I’m so sorry =(
That’s what I fear the most…getting creepy roommates >.<
Talk to the people who are in charge and see if you can move :)!

Just be like:
“I was wondering if there are any other apartments available? I currently have one, but I’d like to request to move to another. My roommates are making me feel very uncomfortable.”

That sounds really messed up. Guess Mother knows best after all…

wow dude that seems really odd…it’d probably be tough to find a new place at this point but yea I’d try to. It sucks that you missed the on campus deadline cuz the school would offer a room switch if it didnt work out.

^
funny thing is, 2 weeks before i was supposed to move into the apartment on campus housing called me and was like oh we saw you were on the waiting list, which i had signed up for after i missed the deadline, are you still looking for a place? Of course mom had already sunk $600 for the first rent, etc so I said no.
