Per TulaneJeff’s admissions blog, they are in the process of making the DHS selections now [Tulane University Admission Blog - Jeff](http://tuadmissionjeff.blogspot.com/)

CoolRunning … for those of us that are waiting for our DHS results, we realize that there is no certainty to the answer of “when” other than to know from experience that last year DHS packages began arriving by the 21st or so (based on those that received it last year). It’s good to read as in jym626’s link that decisions are being made this week, which makes sense and would support the above timing when taking into account assembly of the packets and getting them all of to UPS, etc. Unless you have FACTS supporting “this Friday” or “THIS week” then you shouldn’t put them forth as if they are factual instead of what they are … either an informed or uninformed opinion. If you’ve got some factual basis, then post accordingly.

Man, I didn’t think I’d sweat the decision, and I haven’t until now, but knowing it could come any day is just nerve-racking.

Does the notification come through the regular post office, or through UPS or something? I need to know what truck to stalk

Admissions told me that are going to be paper letters in the mail and said the last week of Feb.

Diomedes … previous posts in this thread have indicated that last year winners received acceptance packages via UPS.

Unless they are changing from last year, they will notify the winners by UPS and the others by USPS.

^^^ Please do try to keep up with the times.

or . . . . “I pray that thou doth keep up with the times.”

Bluntly: Just hide and watch. Travel wide, meson, travel wide.

In all the past years, they notified via UPS expresspak. In it was a pleather binder with a pad and the award letter. My DS’s was dated Feb 15, which that year (2008) was a Friday. The award was delivered Monday Feb 18 (Presidents day-- but UPS delivers that day). Last year the letters went out on Monday, Feb 22. [Twitpic - Share photos and videos on Twitter](Twitpic) From reading cc and fb pages, it doesnt sound like non-winners were notified in past years, so I agree with those who surmise that the award letters will go via UPS expresspak, and the “sorry you werent selected” letters, which I agree should be sent to all non-winners who applied, will go out via USPS.

jym - I thought that last year some said they did get the “sorry you weren’t selected” letters. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/tulane-university/866209-please-mr-ups-man-come-our-way-21.html?highlight=usps posts #314-315. Rereading that, it was very inconsistent. Hopefully they will do better this year.

Funny, fc, I was JUST reading that thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/tulane-university/866209-please-mr-ups-man-come-our-way-6.html

I also read one from 2007 where someone said they got a “so sorry charlie” letter. So maybe they were sent, but it didnt sound like it was consistent. Last yrs UPS pks were received on the 23rd or so.

I was checking my Gibson account just now to see if my FAFSA and CSS profile had been properly submitted on time, and there was a message saying that I had been offered $38000. I double-checked my award overview, and it lists the DHS as being offered.

Seeing as nobody has received notification about the scholarship yet, could this possibly be some type of error, or have people had their Gibson account updated prior to the letter in the past? (If nobody can provide any insight to this, I’ll probably call the Financial Aid Office with my question later and post their answer.)

Well, if thats the case it will definitely rob us of the anticipated fun of stalking the ups guy.

We also got the good news! I don’t think it possibly can be an error. Congrats!

Wow! Interesting!! I logged into my DS’s accounts receivable account (I dont have access to his Gibson account) and see only the payment in January for this semester’s DHS. The CURRENT tuition is $38,300, but I’d guess it’ll go up about 3% next year to maybe about $39,500 give or take. So its funny that they’d post an anticipated scholarship amount that might not be exactly in line with the DHS for next year, unless they are calculating your EFC. However, that said, I can’t wait to hear what the FA office says to you!!

** what exactly does it say in our accounts, Krug and Xabber? Congrats!!

Hi everyone, my son has the DHS filled in too. I called fin aid and they seem to think that its been awarded. I’m on the phone now with admissions to verify. I’m on hold. They are checking…

I guess they decided to do it differently this year…not good news for me…

YES!!! I just got off the phone with the admissions counselor who stated that they just submitted the information to the fin aid office. All the letters are being over nighted now. They were hoping that people got the letters first…

CONGRATS to everyone!!!

Congrats!!! Wonderful news!!!

yep my daughter got it as well, is on gibson

Wow- 4 cc’ers so far have gotten the DHS this year! Great news!
