i apologize for my co webchair not putting up the names yet, but since i dont have the list of names theres nothing i can do yet. i have emailed him and hopefully the names will be up soon. maybe he doesnt even have the list of names yet, who knows. stay tuned i will try and keep you updated

sincerely,
hazelorb
brown college co-chair webmaster

darn you hazelorb, darn you!

haha, just kidding. But seriously, everyone is probably dying to know, so it woudl be awesome if you woudl let us know when everything is up and ready.

I thought the website said that selections will be up by July 6th? Of course, I'm certainly not complaining if they are ready sooner - it would be great to know.

The decision was made last weekend. Once I get the list of names (I have emailed the VP, one of the co-chairs of membership, and the webmaster to see who has the names) it will be up.

Personally I have no problem putting the names up, unless there's some reason we can't disclose them yet. The one issue I can see is that housing has not assigned rooms yet so I won't be able to tell you if you're definitely in yet, just a list of names in order that requests will be sent (ie, higher on the list then higher probability). You know how it says names will turn from black to red - so all of your names will be black until July. I'm not sure how many people housing will allow in but I would assume around 45 as that is the number that were let in last year and to change it they would have had to told us. I will let you know. I just think it's silly that the webmasters never update it and so on. We're aiming to change this during this coming year. :)

SHAME on whoever submitted a late application!! youd better not be on this board lol. i dont know why they read those. therefore, i doubt the list will be available as soon as we'd hoped. :

hazelorb, I must say, I have a feeling a good friend of mine may have sent in the late application. I know a few kids that postmarked their apps for the 31st, so there may have been some late apps in because of that. If you mean postmark after the 31, then look to others to blame :)

ps. you wouldn't happen to be able to look me up on some sort of preliminary list now would you? :p

when i get the list i will let you all know, unfortunately i have no list right now because the app readings are not done yet, but like i said i will definitely keep you updated :) :) :)

I didn't do the Brown application, but I'm just curious Hazelorb, do you know how many first year applications you all got?

well i know 18 came in late...

whaaaaaaaaaaaa? 18?! They really shouldn't have read those (unless of course it were mine or my friends, in which case they should have read only ours and thrown the rest away :p)

that is really bad though. I certainly hope there were only ~27 regular applications (not a chance)

Reading that, I had a similar reaction... Were there a record number of applications this year? Good luck to all the CC applicants; I'm still holding on to the hope that my essays were unique enough (read: an odd mix of satire and articulate stream-of-consciousness) to warrant notice.

By the way, mine was definitely in on time (bonus points anyone?).:)

ha, mine was about as nerdy as i think it would get. I had to tone it down in a few sections. How nerdy? Howbout a Non-20 system character sheet.... of Richard Stallman

you did the character sheet? lol nice.

there werent that many that came in on time, but i dont have exact numbers. i do know that it was housing that gave us those 18 to read, so most of those were probably the ones postmarked on the due date or later.

i think a lot of people thought it was a postmark date

I have a feeling your going to be reading mine twice, I hope they notice. I emailed mine in on the 30th, but my mom accidentally mailed it in as well on the 31. So maybe count that as 17 apps, I just hope they notice two of mine.

I just got some numbers; we received a total of 100 applications for both first-years and transfers. I don't know the exact numbers for first-years but it seems that there are more applicants this year.

dang, I was told (by a source other than hazelorb) that they didn't get all that many applications this year. Bah, oh well. We'll see how it goes.

Any idea when they will post the rankings?

If only 18 were late, and around 100 were received, that's quite a few applications to read in one weekend. Now I'm wondering if what I wrote was too long and dense...

scratch 18. the number is now 27. this is crazy! last year there were so few summer applications. i guess we did a better job of pushing it!! lol.

Have the ones sent in on time already been read?

these were all postmarked right around the due date or later.
