**December 14 ACT Thread**

Anyone’s opinion on the following?

English 6x
Math 7x
Reading 5x
Science 4x

That’s my worst possible case scenario…can someone give me a range of what that could be?

@jamesjunkers

31E
32M
32R
33S

Pretty nice worst case scenario

Did the math question with the cars ask for the minimum or maximum that could take three passengers?

I believe it was maximum of three people in a car. So, if you take 7 cars x 3 people= 21
Take original 15 cars - 7cars= 8 cars.
It said there could be UP to 5 people in the other cars. So, 8x5=40 people
40 + 21 = 61, or, more than 60. So the answer was 7.

@ACThater
That is what I got.

@ACThater oh good. I guess it’d have to be maximum anyway because minimum could be 0 and I don’t remember that being a choice

For reading, why was the personification question the train and not the temperature? I thought “slapping him in the face” was personified enough. Can someone please explain?

i think i might’ve been in radian mode :confused: did people get 11.11 for the law of cosine problem?

Jman- do you remember the exact question? I don’t really know what you’re talking about. I don’t think I had that as an answer, but I might just not remember.

the law of cosine problem (c^2=a^2 x b^2 +2(b)(a)(cos(c)). It was a triangle and you had to use the law of cosine to solve it. I already figured out that the answer was 11 point something…I checked the goole doc. Thanks anyway though

could you guys remember what the three last answers were for math? I ran out of time so i put D for all three lol

Will the scores be posted on 12/30?

^ I believe so.

They will start posting scores on the 30th. Unlike SAT, ACT gives a window of time for the results. For this test it is Dec 30 to Feb 1 I think

Hi I was confused on the wording for the venn diagram question in the math section. The question was asking how many kids took at least 2 of the offered band, choir, and dance team. Does anyone know the answer. was it 22 kids? or was it 27 kids?

^ I forgot about that one, I was unsure as well…

It was 27 since atleast 2 included the kids who took 3

Sat, too, gives a time frame. For the venn diagram you just had to add up all the numbers that were in the middle, right?

^That’s correct. Because it includes the people that take all three as well.

Did anyone else think the science part was hard? It was different than any other science practice/test I’ve ever taken.
