December 2010 ACT General Discussion

<p>Uh… Hate this forums… Everyone is smarter then I am…</p>

<p>If I get higher that a 29, my life is complete.</p>

<p>@wiggin- you’re not alone</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>Goodluck going from a 33 to a 35 if you’re completely basing your next score on luck. I don’t think any amount of studying will help someone increase that much between testings though.</p>

<p>Prediction: >32
Goal: 36
No. of Practice Tests Taken: ~4
Retake?: Yes, I had a sore throat and got a 32 in October
Grade: Junior
Questions: None.</p>

<p>What’s considered a good breakfast/mid-test snack? ahaha</p>

<p>I ate bagels with blueberry cream cheese and a cheese cracker snack. :D</p>

<p>Prediction: 35
Goal: 36
No. of Practice Tests Taken: 4; getting 34’s on most sections, 36 in science, hoping to get another random 36 off luck to get up to the 35.5 composite to round up lol.
Retake?: Yes
Grade: Senior, very last shot ever (makes me nervous just thinking about it)
Questions: nope</p>

<p>^What did you get previously? I feel ya on the senior part, gonna miss staying up the whole night waiting for results.</p>

<p>^34 and then 30 the time before that.</p>

<p>Prediction: 35
Goal: 36
No. of Practice Tests Taken: ~ 4
Retake?: No
Grade: Junior
Questions: The essay is an entirely separate score, correct? As in, it won’t affect the English score like the SAT Essay influences with Writing score? Finally, is there anything special about the December ACT I should keep out for? I heard that they reused a test for last year’s December ACT… any predictions what test they’ll reuse for this one?
Comments: I’m hoping to get a 35 on this test… first time I’m taking an official ACT, although I’ve done released ones in the past. :&lt;/p>

<p>^ You are correct in that the writing score is a completely different section that does not get factored into your composite score. </p>

<p>And I doubt they would ever reuse a test unless it was from more than 4 years back for obvious reasons.</p>

<p>Prediction: 33
Goal: 35
No. of Practice Tests Taken: 6-8
Retake?: No
Grade: Senior
Questions: Need some serious help. I am taking the test for the first time in 2 weeks! :(</p>

<p>Prediction: 32
Goal: 32
No. of Practice Tests Taken: I don’t even want to know… O.O
Retake?: Yes
Grade: Senior
Questions: I’m hoping that about 200 hours of studying will bump me from a 28-32! :)<em>prays for gracious curves</em>.</p>

<p>

Agreed. I doubt that ACT would ever reuse a test unless it’s very old (maybe ~5 years back) or the test was previously used on a Sunday date (or something like that). It’s not like CB where a test that was actually *released<a href=“or%20somehow%20gotten%20a%20hold%20of%20by%20some%20people”>/i</a> is reused on an actual testing date. <em>Thinks back to the November SAT testing date</em> ;)</p>

<p>Is there a pattern of difficulty on act, from what i’ve heard around my school is that like every 2nd or third test is kind of more difficult. Like October was kind of difficult and therefore had a curve. But the September wasn’t so difficult. Any known pattern?</p>

<p>There’s no pattern and luck to getting the score you want.</p>

<p>Prediction: 30-32
Goal: 32
No. of Practice Tests Taken: 2 or 3
Retake?: Yes from a 30 in June
Grade: Junior
Questions: Does anyone have any tips on how to raise my math and science score?
Comments: Hoping the math and science sections aren’t too bad. I never seem to be able to finish them.</p>

<p>hey guys this will be my first time taking the ACT
Prediction 28+
Goal 32
Grade: Junior
Question: I am planning on going into some sort of computer science major and am focusing a big part on the math section.
Any advice on getting 34+ on the math.
Should I just practice problems from past ACT tests online. What did yu all get and what did you do, if anything??
Thanks for all the help</p>

<p>Prediction: 35/36
Goal: 36
No. of Practice Tests Taken: 5
Retake?: Yes, from 34
Grade: Junior, but graduating early=senior
Questions: Where do you guys find so many practice tests?
Comments: The English section is the only one I’m worried about. If I can manage a 34, I’m pretty confident I can get that 36. (I must sound so arrogant lol)</p>

<p>Bumping this up. One more day until the ACT!</p>
