December SAT: Math

oh, sorry I know

Ok the x=.3(box)

choices were: 2,3,4,7,8 (pretty sure)

x is only .3something. nothing less, nothing more. so it cannot be .38995889393 or what not. Therefore, the answer was .32 (8/25)-->just press ans->fraction key in your ti-83.

suppose people get anngry about this questino. would College board decide to omit this question or are they adamant about all their questions/answers?

but.. i have a questionn.. that divisible by 3 and 5... did it seriously SAY that the number had to be odd.... OMFG... i promised myself.. i would read the question twice.. how in this world.. did i miss it!! AHHHHHH

lol after 8 months without a math class, my calculator and a bevy of iic progams bailed me out today

what about the one triangle with the equilateral triangle in the middle? what was that answer? is that the 10sqrt3 one?

Thanx everyone. I'll be heading out.

yes i am serious about the divisible by five or three problem. it said the number "if an odd number is not divisible by three, then it must be divisible by 5. provide an example between 20-35 that would prove this statement false."

it could have been 23, 29, or 31

i got 10 radical 3.

side 10 forms a 120 degree isosceles triangle. if u divide 120 into half,

u'll get two 30-60-90 triangle with hypotenuse of 10. :D

crisoliva.. yes it is A

I just used law of cosines :)

i gotta go. good luck to everyone and f*** collegeboard by the way X:(

I solved it using law of sines (sinA/a= sinB/b etc..). You could use also the law of cosines, or simply draw a right triangle right on the equilateral triangle.

hahahahahah.. like u used law of cosines.... i dont even remember it!

you don't need law of sines or anything... just use a2+b2=c2!

thats what i did, haha. it worked though.

and someone keeps asking about C....that was one of the last ones i did and i was afraid i was going to mess up gridding since i was going so fast.....and toward the end i was chanting to myself grid C grid C grid C. so i think maybe the one you are asking about could be C.

it looks like i took the harder path.

well, at least it works easier for me :D

yeah.. it is C

is there any other problems?
i'm feeling extremely positve this time :)

what would be your math score if you got 3 mc + 2 grid-ins wrong?

prolly 700
