I think regular decision letters may be mailed Friday, March 17. According to old posts (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=42464 for 2005 and http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=158129 for 2006) in-state students began receiving regular decision letters (not ed or honors) on the third Saturday of March for the past two years. Does anyone else think that decisions may be mailed this Friday?

i think you're right, dramageek164.
i've also been reading the posts from previous years and concluded that its very likely we would be receiving regular decision letters the upcoming friday, saturday, or monday of next week.

I hope they will be allowed to tell us on Friday if they have been put in the mail yet.

I think you all are right because last year people found out on 3-19... the wait is almost over!

woot i'm so excited.

wow.......are decisions sent via US mail or online, too? W&M is the closest school of my daughter's choices. From a mother's standpoint, ideal choice.

W&M specifically states on its website that decisions are snail mail only, nothing online.

thanks, heli. My daughter only wants to get her acceptances/rejects in the mail....isn't going to check anything online. Not sure her reasoning.

I just have to state the obvious but I am getting REALLY impatient for this letter!

Me too! I am no longer in the mood for the excited/anxious waiting. It is actually just getting annoying at this point. I feel like all the decisions are probably finalized by now. They should scrap their traditional plan and post it online or just mail it immediately....

I don't think people will start getting letters until the end of March. This Friday/Saturday etc is far too early.

Besides, we're on Spring Break right now. They'll probably finalize everything and mail them out when everyone comes back.

I don't think this Friday and Saturday are too early because they have mailed them at about the same time in the past two years. However, you probably are right about them not going out until after this week. I didn't know that this week is spring break. Hopefully the letters will come next week.

Does the admissions office take spring break? It wouldn't surprise me too much if they didn't.

Spring break at W&M is a week later this year because of the Jamestown 400 year anniversary in the spring. We heard from someone that they pushed the whole calendar back a week to make sure there were students on campus since the Queen and Prince Phillip are supposed to be coming. That may affect the date of the regular decision letters going out.

Emory's spring break is this week, too. I can see letters not going out before Monday or Tuesday. If then

Has anybody actually talked to the admissions people though?

i think i'm gonna email them today and see if i could get an answer.

I'd call if I were you. It took them over a week when I emailed (less than 2 weeks ago) to ask if my app was complete.

Someone from my school got into William and Mary today. I really don't know who she is but I don't think anyone would lie about getting in. This just makes me more nervous because I have not gotten my letter yet.

Monroe scholars were notified recently. I got the acceptance packet today in the mail. The regular acceptances are not out yet, so don't worry!

Even though I'm only a junior planning to ED next year, I actually really can't wait until the news erupts and this message board is filled with people posting their stats and accomplishments feverishly. There's a good chance I'll be feeling you guys' tension this time next year, unless I'm rejected, which, is of course also in the realm of possibility. So, in conclusion, good luck to all!

LOVE.
