So, yesterday I got into UNC-Chapel Hill. It's tied for my top choice with NYU. I'm not asking anyone to make up my mind for me, but, being that Chapel Hill is an amazing school and I'm in-state, would you even bother applying to NYU? It's just so expensive. But, on the other hand, I'm interested in fashion, so the internships available in new york would be priceless. Would would everyone here do?

I would apply to NYU to see what happens. Do your best on the application, and it's possible that you might receive some financial aid. At any rate, if you don't apply, you definitely won't be able to go, so I think it's worth a try.

Seems like you have your head screwed on straight - I think you'll be fine wherever you decide to go. :)

i also actually just got into UNC yesterday and it is tied as my top choice with NYU, and i am in state as well. I am still applying to NYU and i think you should also because at least you still have the option and can think about it for a few months more. NYU is so much more expensive but i think the location and opportunities it would bring would be worth it.

Why would you even be considering NYU? NYU does not offer a program in fashion design.

Design is not the only aspect of fashion. There are fashion magazines, boutiques, etc. There are tons of different fashion related jobs.

Moving on, I've made a decision. Unfortunately, I will not be joining you all at NYU next year. I'm going to be a Tarheel. It's a lot cheaper, and a great school. There's always grad school. Plus, my parents will help me out when I move to New York after graduation to get my career started!

Well, good luck everyone!
