Decisions: March 29th, ONLINE

I have nooooo idea what order I'm going to check my schools in. If I check Princeton first, I will either be too upset to check the other 2 (Harvard and Yale) or too ecstatic to check the other 2. Either way, maybe I shouldn't check Princeton first, because eventually I'm going to have to find out my decision.

And jon, I like how you're going to "discreetly" check it. I can just imagine my mom being like "OK OK OK do it!!!!" and like hovering all raincloud-in-April style . I think I'll just pretend I'm doing something meaningless and if she can't detect my heart beating loudly enough to awaken several sleeping neighbors then it'll be OK.

I decided to check alphabetically except for the decisions that are going to be emailed... Ill check those whenever they arrive.

Admission decisions for applicants to the Princeton Class of 2011 will be available online on Thursday, March 29, 2007 after 5 pm EDT. We also will mail decision letters by post to all applicants.

Thank you! Making certain daughter has her registration ID set now. Princeton is the only school in which she's checking online....waiting on the rest to come snail mail. And she has a soccer game AND dance class later, so not able to check until real late on March 29th. Glad she's so patient! (smiles)

Good luck momray!

Thanks for the link Def890! If you didn't post anything I would have been frantically checking the status page and wondering what was going on. :P

haha yeah me too rotor :P thanks def!

just a question...are we on daylight or standard time now? The Brown site says decisions will be available at 5 EST while Princeton is 5 EDT... is this the same time or does RI just not do daylight time or whatever?

lol does anyone else find it creepy that parents read these threads and comment about their sons' and daughters' decisions? talk about pressure.

hahahaha yah..i find it hilarious how sometimes they use "D" and "S" ..lol can't you just type the whole thing out..what's "DD" btw?

EST is the Eastern Time Zone, which Princeton is a part of. I was looking around and I found out that EDT means Eastern Daylight Time (which is EST, but now we're in daylight savings time). So, 5 PM for Brown and Princeton!

Agree. I dont mind reading parents' posts; however I think that the one who's going to college is the applicant, not the applicant's parents.

DD - two daughters? :P I dunno.

Hello all, parent here:).

DD is darling or dearest daughter.

Here are a couple of other ways to look at the parent postings.

When we have a kid going through this if we post on cc we insulate our child from our neuroses and anxieties and let them suffer only their own:)

When we don't have a kid going through this we believe, perhaps misguidedly, that we can help you who ARE going through it.

Alumother and all, I'm also a parent. I would also add that some of our kids don't frequent CC. However, that doesn't mean they aren't concerned about their applications or the college process, just that they choose not to. On the other hand, if a parent chooses to post on CC, and that parent is obtaining information or sharing information helpful to others, there should be no problem.

Also....if parents are supporting their children, many of us want to know where are $$$ are going!

Oh man, its getting real close. It'll be around 8 more days...

The parent posters are usually the best informed and most rational. I'm glad of their presence.

8 days, 23 hours, 19 minutes.....

...until my heart stops. now we just have to see whether that's in a good way or a bad one. :P
