icsmatt, the generally accepted decision time is 5pm eastern on the 29th. 5pm EST = 2pm PST. simple conversion based on a reasonable assumption.

actually, i remember my yale EA decision was announced at 4pm. so it could be any time that day/afternoon.

So my prom is on March 31st, which means that
a) if I get in, that will be the most fun weekend of my life (up until this point, well, maybe not, but no, actually, it will be)
b) if I do not get in, I will still be able to have a crazy weekend and forget all about it

But we're hoping for A.
And by we, I mean...me.

so did anyone figure out why they said early April? Even if that "within 24 hrs of the other Ivies" thing is true, it wouldn't make any sense. No matter how you turn it, 29th till early April will be longer than 24 hrs, I'm just confused.

I think that all Ivies say "in early April" and then they release decisions on the closest Thursday near April 1. Because last year, Yale and all those schools released decisions online on a Thursday, I believe. So even though Yale and Harvard and such have concretely said March 29, Princeton is just being its good ole traditional self and sticking to "early April."

But you're right. If its within 24 hours of the other Ivies, that would be March 30 at 5 P.M. EST at the latest.

The woman I spoke to at Princeton said it can be within 24 hours, but really was very vague. How about someone else calling and reporting back what they hear? You may hit the jackpot. Just make sure you ask to speak to an admission's officer, otherwise, you will just get someone answering and forwarding calls. Just a thought.
