Decisions . . .

Recently, I was accepted to two different programs for this summer. First off, I'm aware that they do not have the prestige of many of the programs on this board. Still, I feel like attending will allow me an unparalleled opportunity to experience the academic and social atmosphere of the chosen school before I apply this fall. Both programs would be fully covered by scholarships, so finances are not a concern in this case. The programs in question are:

Washington University in St. Louis High School Summer Scholars: At this program, I would take American Politics, Macroeconomics, and a writing seminar.

University of Chicago Summer Session: Here, I would participate in the summer quarter and be enrolled in "Power, Identity, and Resistance," and "Modernist Fiction."

Both programs would yield college credit, so I'm most concerned with which would offer the best academic experience. I don't really care about which would "look better" on my college apps, as that's not why I'm doing this.

Any input you all could provide would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you in advance for all of the help!

Well, in my opinon recieving full scholarships to these programs bumps the prestige level up ALOT. So congrats.

That being said, just choose whichever might be ur top school. I might even visit before. Also, WASHU probably would look extremely favorably on ur app if u attend their program for sure…

Congrats again

That was a factor I was considering. As WUSTL considers student interest, would turning down the summer offer kill my undergrad app chances?

I doubt they keep track of people who turn them down but attending would be a big +.

Since money and “prestige” aren’t big concerns the only thing left would be interest. Which would be more interesting. Or perhaps location. If you want to get a bit farther from home or stay closer. Or maybe you could look at other things offered at a program besides classes. I mean do they offer seminars or a solid chunk of free time to roam the city? I don’t know much about either program so you could post or look into it yourself.
