Deferred/letter of Intent

Gang

I've just been informed by a VERY reliable source, that UNC does not take a letter of intent into consideration when making an admissions decision. They consider every applicant to have a sincere desire to attend.

So sorry if I offered bad information and am very thankful that I was given correct information for the future.

I still will stand by the recommendation to NOT send supplemental essays/DVDs/CDs etc without getting approval to do so. The admissions staff is already overworked and adding to that burden just can't help your cause. That said, if something significant does arise....new awards, achievements etc, there's no harm in updating your file but then and only then.

Good luck to all and again, sorry for the misinformation.

Would it hurt at all if I put it in my letter, along with the new awards and stuff?

And do you consider being nominated for the US Presidential Scholars program significant? It only selects 3000 people nationally but it’s basically be selected to apply for the program, not actually winning anything
