Deferred -- Now what?

"i want to move to south dakota. they got exactly 1 early app from there"

How'd you find that out? Did he/she get in?

no, on the page where u get ur decision, there's a link to Yale EA statistics in the top left corner.

there are so many questions....and so little answers....ahh the status of being deferred..

after december 31st, i'm gonna try and forget about yale, and college in general, until the end of march.

Are these posted anywhere else? I didn't apply, but I'm really interested in seeing the statistics. Can you just copy and paste it?

Hmm...I'm still mulling over what to do, being deferred. If you've any comments, please respond to my queries on the previous page. :)

sorry for posting the same question in two places, but when do we have to have our additions in by? the same deadline as RD, or do we get some more time to rewrite, more recommendations, etc...?

the deferrees are considered last, aren't we?

yes, the admissions people re-evaluate the deferrees after they read all the RD applications and they know where the class stands after that point. i think i'll send my additional letter, recommendation, essay, etc., around mid-february to give them some room to breathe.

when is a good time to call our regional admissions reps? should we do it immediately or wait a couple of weeks? those are the people who read the apps from our areas, right?

flowertje, it is often useful to have your GC call the admissions regional officer and ask about your application and how you can strengthen it for consideration in the RD round. Is your GC likely to do this for you if you ask?

For the others, by all means continue to send supplemental materials IF you think they will add to your application and to the reader's understanding of who you are as a person and what you can contribute the college community.

With regards to application review in the RD, I don't know the answer, but suggest you call or e-mail the admissions office and ask. It is my understanding that the applications that were deferred from the EA round are not considered after the RD applications, but are considered anew as if they were first time RD applications. Double check this with admissions.
