Deferred.

My results were finally posted online today:

"Thank you for your application for admission to the University of Maryland. The Admission Committee has completed an initial review of your application but is not yet able to reach a final decision. In order to make a final decision, we would like to consider your grades from the first semester of your senior year to determine if you are among our most competitive applicants. Please arrange to have your high school send us your grades as soon as possible. You will be notified of a final decision by April 1."

What kind of odds am I looking at with this? Some stats are:

In-state
2.9 GPA (UW), either a 3.7 or 3.85 this semester which should bump it up to a 3.0.
HUGE upward trend in GPA
7 AP's and 1 IB upon graduating (Calc BC, Physics B...)
1920 SAT, 600 CR; 710 Math; 610 Writing
Great recommendations
Good essays in my opinion
Great music EC's, lacrosse. Decent EC's overall

spring maybe

I have a feeling it will either be Fall or nothing.

The 3.7 - 3.85 GPA from fall semester will be extremely important for you. They wanted to make sure that you aren’t going back to your “previous” ways now that you’ve already applied to colleges. Obviously you haven’t. Get them your transcript as soon as possible, and then call to follow up to make sure they got it and are reviewing it. It is probably a question of fall vs. spring admit for you…I doubt if it would be fall or nothing. Good luck!

To Astro, my AP Environmental teacher is submitting a formal grade change. I had a high B, but there were a few issues that justified it being an A. I emailed an admissions counselor, because I don’t know if the time it will take to process this will affect my chances at admission.

Grr, I hope not.

Danny you will get in, then you will launch your toyota emporium empire.
