Hey, I got deferred form NU and I’m not sure if I should be stressing or not. I’m pretty good for admissions I think
SAT: 680 math, 730 English, 760 Reading
A 95 three year, with a 98 junior year
Good amount of ECs, president of a club.
Anyone know if deferral is indicative of rejection or is this just them feeling out the applicant pool?
I was also deferred and it looks like plenty of people on this forum were too. I don’t know what it means though.
Don’t be too upset, I got deferred as well… it was one of my top choices too haha…
I mean I’ve been seeing kids getting accepted with lower stats than I am and idk if that just means I’m doing something wrong or what
I mean I’m also national merit semi finalist, for whatever that’s worth
It seems as if almost everyone who was accepted EA recieved some kind of merit scholarship.
What was your major? If you applied engineering, their average stats are going to become much higher.
It was international business
@aeroplaneoverthe same here. A girl from my school got accepted and I know her scores were in the 1800s… (Sat) maybe it was her writing that got her in? And she does do a nursing internship… But still I’m confused and sad that she got in and I got deferred
I’ve heard a ton of stories like that. Maybe their applications process is just weird.
I was also deferred for accounting… what is this!!!
I got deferred for their music industry major… It makes me mad though bc there was an option to submit a portfolio but I when I emailed the professor he said I didn’t need one for music. Now I feel like I should have submitted something to have helped my chances! Ugh
Feeling like I worked so hard for nothing… let’s hope for March
Also deferred. I think I read somewhere that there were 890 ED applicants and 23,000+ EA applicants. 8-|
And of the 23k EA, ALOT of the extremely high stat kids using this as a safety (financial safety too, I bet lots and lots of NMF applied since they are the most selective top school offering a large NM)…
Did you guys all visit the school?
I think many deferrals are just NU wanting to see if you w/d after an ED admit at your #1. If you don’t w/d, many of you will be accepted:)
What does w/d mean? @HRSMom
Withdraw. If someone gets into another school ED, they have to w/d their NU app.
