Delaware Class of 2020 Acceptances

When my D was accepted 2 years ago there was nothing in the letter. The Merit Money was posted online a few days after she received the letter. I would check there.

Thank you SALSRL! I am really excited about my acceptance! I was just hoping for some merit money too, because every bit does help. I will keep checking my portal. Merry Christmas and hang in there to all those waiting. I put my application in on 11/8 and received acceptance yesterday if that time frame helps anyone.

Historically, UD seems to offer a high number of smaller/more modest scholarships to lots of students, both IS and OOS. In 2012 at my daughter’s IS high school, the max merit amount for the top stats students(NMF, high GPA, etc) seemed to be 7K(she had a 2230 SAT, NMF, 35 ACT, 3.95 U/W, 7 APs and she got 7K).

There were 4 or 5 kids who also got invited to compete for the UD Distinguished Scholar full tuition/full-ride scholarships in Feb/March, my daughter did not get invited to compete for those. She received 2 full tuition scholarship offers from 3 other schools. My older daughter did win one of the DuPont full-ride scholarships back in 2012, 2300 SAT, NMF, etc.

@jrossi266 Would you mind posting the scholarship amount when you find out? Very similar stats to me so I’d be very interested to see the amount, thanks!

10k

Hey - if it helps S accepted to Engineering, 3.52 unweighted GPA, 1870 SAT, 29 ACT, OOS

Was anyone denied from Honors Program?

Unless things change this year you really don’t get a separate notification if you are denied admission to the Honors Program. You would get an acceptance notification just to the regular program without any mention of the Honors Program application. If you get an acceptance to UD without any mention of acceptance to the Honors Program you can assume you were not accepted into the Honors Program. Actually UD does not have an “Honors College” you apply to specifically but rather an Honors Program.

Does anyone know if scholarships are posted on the Hen Home under “My Finances Award Notice” or are they posted under something else?

I don’t know about this year, but 2 yrs ago it was under the “finance award” section.

I received my acceptance in the mail last Thursday and it just came up on the portal yesterday that I was accepted. I looked in the “finance award” section and it says nothing about merit award. Should I assume I got no scholarship? Comparing my stats with people from last year I should get something. UD is my top school but I need money to be able to go there.

I would give it a few days. Most admissions offices are closed for winter break and may not be posting until they reopen.

@rumorsareflying Did your portal show your scholarship as soon as it updated to say you were accepted or was it a few days later. Also, was it under the “financial award” section or did a separate link pop up? Thanks!

…not sure why that posted twice and it won’t let me delete it, sorry!

My portal showed the scholarship immediately after it updated, and it was under the financial award section.
