Delaware Class of 2020 Acceptances

My IS daughter’s application was complete 12 weeks ago and she is still waiting to hear also. Her stats are good, SAT 2130, 3.9 U/W GPA and she applied for Fashion Merchandising. Not sure why it seems to be taking so long for a decision. Some of her friends were notified 2-3 weeks after submitting their applications, although some are still waiting, as she is. She has already been accepted with good merit scholarships at all 7 of the other schools she applied to. She is frustrated that she has not heard anything from UD.

Hello
My D is UD class of 2019; after acceptance, she was told she could not change majors; then we contacted the department head, and then we were told they reviewed her high school transcript and approved the major change. I suggest contacting the Department Head.

My daughter received her email and portal update that she was accepted into the nursing program at UD this morning at around 7:30 AM, California time. She is thrilled and we didn’t expect it at all having interviewed with the California rep and he explained how difficult it was to get into the program. We are very excited and probably won’t be able to visit until her spring break, but would love to hear anyone’s comments regarding the nursing program! We heard it was fabulous, but that’s about it. Congrats to all who got in as well!

Son admitted to UD this morning! Woohoo. Stats: GPA 89/100 ~ 3.45; SATs 1770 (640 math, 570 CR) 9 AP and Honors. Lots of ECs and service; part time job. Major Computer Engineering - although the acceptance online doesn’t seem to say one way or the other… Haven’t received anything in the mail but we were on vacation and will get all our mail today from mid last week…

@mmsharp Are you IS or OOS? When did your S apply?

@salsrl - we (my son) is OOS (PA) and he applied 10/14/15 and all his materials were in by 10/28/15

@mmsharp Thank you. My son also applied Engineering in November and is still waiting. Just wanted to see the timing.

Hey lumineers, thank you for wishing me luck, I was just accepted today after months of waiting! I got an email inviting me to join a program and congratulating me on my recent admissions until I checked my portal and saw it was updated. Weirdly, the letter in my portal had no department or program listed, just a blank space, which I’m hoping and assuming is just a mistake. Waiting for the acceptance packet it the mail to confirm everything but I’m so very happy I can relax and stop worrying.

@lumineers ^

Super excited to be accepted to Engineering at UD! Instate, 2080 SAT, 3.36 UW/3.6W GPA. I got an email about accepted students day, checked my portal and found my acceptance letter. for all the students waiting, hang in there & good luck!

Just got my letter today!! My application was complete November 10th. I’m from out of state, 3.5 unweighted GPA, 1800 SAT, 2 sport captain, few other solid extracurricular’s. I got accepted for athletic training, which I hear is pretty competitive so I’m pretty happy. I’m between UDel and University of South Carolina just waiting on scholarships and stuff. Good luck everyone!!

Just FYI for anyone curious… I was an out of state applicant, and was accepted to the honors college of UDel on Feb. 1st. I was notified a few days ago of my scholarship. I was shocked to have received $10,000 per year. Note: I did not apply before whatever November or December date was being discussed earlier in the thread, so if others didn’t either, you will still be considered.
Hope that helps anyone!

@Leyla98 do you mind sharing stats? just curious about the merit money, I didn’t get as much as I expected

Can anyone tell me about when you should see any merit money in the portal? Got the acceptance on 1/16 but nothing under My Financials Award Notice - except telling us to complete the FAFSA which we did a few days later. Still nothing in the mail either

@mmsharp I would call admissions, they can easily look up your file, especially if you know your UDID #. They will be able to tell you if you got anything, but normally people find out a week or two after they have been admitted…

@CinnamonSpice - I will wait a few more days/week - my post should have said my S got accepted on 2/15…

My daughter’s acceptance letter was dated 2/9 (application was ready for review on 10/27). Her portal was updated today with a Provost scholarship.

Becoming a little concerned/frustrated: I submitted my application as a nursing major around November 11, but due to a problem with College Board, my SAT scores were not received until December 7 which essentially held me back almost 4 weeks because of the incomplete application. I am now at almost 11 weeks and have yet to hear a decision. I am OOS with a unweighted gpa of 3.7 and a super score of 1800, varsity athletics, and multiple other EC’s. It is one of my top schools, but as merit aid begins to dwindle I am getting less interested because of the expense, and I have already been accepted to nursing program at my less expensive, in-state school, PSU.

@dmarie109 do you mind sharing your daughters stats? i was hoping for that scholarship because i thought i had the stats for it but received lower and am trying to appeal it.

@goflyers10 - I was accepted into nursing 2day with similar stats. Applied mid October, a long wait but there is hope! Think positive!! Super excited!
