DePaul of University of Denver?

Planning on majoring in anthropology or sociology.

Pros and Cons of each :) thanks!

Well what kind of school environment are you looking for? What are the finances like? DePaul is pretty different from Denver. Denver attracts a lot of preppy kids, and is relatively known as a party school. DePaul is a big school that is swallowed up by the city, and does not have much of an identity. It really depends on what you’re looking for.

I just recently graduated from the University of Denver with a BA in Sociology, and I cannot speak more highly of my experience. The professors in the sociology department are absolutely incredible, the courses are intellectually stimulating, interesting, hands-on, and there are tons of great internships available in the greater Denver area. I did three internships as an undergraduate, and I graduated with a job lined up! I am now looking at going to graduate school, and my professors from my undergrad have been so incredibly helpful. I still stop by their offices and email them on a regular basis, and they keep me posted on things that I need to keep in mind for the graduate application process.

As for the school as a whole, DU offers a great location, a dynamic student body, challenging course material, great study abroad opportunities, and is comfortably mid-sized. The University of Denver also has students from many different backgrounds, resulting in great discussions both inside and outside the classroom. As I said, I cannot speak more highly of my experience.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

If you want a cool, urban environment, go with DePaul.

Both are excellent schools. I like them both and I think they are just not well known to people outside of the area. UDenver has a traditional campus whereas DePaul is a city school .

I would opt for Depaul based on location as both are pretty evenly ranked. But the cost of living would be higher in Chicago so that and travel might be factors to consider.
