Did anyone get rejected?

Thanks, Mamma B =]
I'm really praying I get into UCLA.
I'm actually considering taking a gap year if I don't--to take time and think about what I want to do. School's really kicked my butt this year so I'm really burnt out.
Hopefully, I get into UCLA. UCB is too far from where I live.
SIGH. This college stuff is stressful.

i also heard from my counselor about the diversity thing.. like socal gets into ucb "easier" so.. sigh hoping for that!!
crap ucsd was my safety so i feel like i'm not going to get into any of my other colleges =[ (pomona, claremont mckenna, ucb, ucla, oxy, usc... didnt get anything of any of them yet)
i hope i get into ucb or ucla though or i'm screwed..
wow sound&fury i cannot believe you didn't get in.. that doesn't even make any sense =[

I have never heard of UCSD being considered a safety.. UCSD is so competitive

I was rejected by Davis, and I had lost all hope for SD.. but turns out that I was in at SD. (winter quarter admit)

So have hope you guys, LA and Berk. use a totally different method for admissions. Do not let SD's decision influence your next upcoming ones.

rejected by davis but in at sd? what?? sighh at least you got into sd..
i know.. sd isn't a safety but my mom wouldn't let me apply lower than sd NO JOKE and im serious when i say i had no choice in the matter- she went apesht when i told her i wanted to apply to irvine as safety.
anyway.. these upside down admittances are kind of encouraging in a weird way.......

Wow I feel alot better after reading these... Sadly, I got rejected too. I pretty much knew I was gonna get rejected, after doing that point adding up, I was about 200 pts below the cut off. Oh well... I wasn't really feelin' the SD vibe anyway. But just wondering, did the fact that I applied for a Bio major greatly decrease my chances??

Nah. UCSD doesn't do admissions by major.

Really? I've heard otherwise.

I'm sure there are majors that are impacted... bio is certainly a possibility for an impacted major..

No, I didn't get any email. My friend called me saying that results were out, so I had to dig through my emails to find one they sent me like a month ago that had an id#. So I had to go on the link and register an account with that number

Same here, froobles. My friend called to tell me that she got in. When I found out I got rejected, I almost didn't call her back because I was so embarassed. She spoke some very nice/reassuring words, though.

So I REALLLLLY hope I get into UCLA. cross my fingers

Good luck to all of you with UCLA and Cal

<3

Thanks Skadforlife =]

2160 sat, 3.9 gpa

Congratulations, coexist.

about impacted majors:

they recently just unimpacted computer engineering so anyone that wants to be a computer engineering major can be one.

however, they just made bio an impacted major so you might get into ucsd but not into the bio program

ACCEPTED

1570 SAT 3.99 to 4.2 UC GPA rank 14 of class.

Strong essay + 200 community service hours :D

470 BIO
510 LIT
550 MATH 2

Below average scores but somehow most of my classmates around the same area got into UCSD as well.

^ bio major also :o

^ hmm..i dk how some people with 2100+SAT 4.0+ UCGPA were rejected.
An OOS friend got into UCSD with 1700 SAT,620m2, 800 Chinese, 4.2~+ UC GPA, crappy essay, 0 EC.
weird.. lol

christianwu.. ok not in a bad way but lol how did you get accepted with those scores?!
omg im so confused now.

wow.. and he's a bio major too?

a bit strange to say the least...

He must have racked up a lot of points in the other categories
