So, my dad finally checked the mail today (it's been on hold for over month) and he got to see the Stanford letter. He said that I also got a handwritten note from an admissions officer named Michael that said "Your writing was amazing". I was just wondering if everyone got this cause this Michael guy's arm must be hurting like heck. :D

Yeah i got one, except it was from a guy named Densil. It said my teachers spoke well of me. I really do appreciate their effort.

And the letter also tells us how to create a sunet id

Believe it or not, a friend of mine who graduated from high school last year told me that the little note he got was one reason he chose Stanford over many other great school (including Harvard). It may not seem like much, but you have to admit it makes you feel special. And we all want to feel special. :)

I got one from Michael Elgarico. pretty neat, I think :P

Just so you guys don't start thinking everyone gets a note, I didn't get one ;) And yes, I was an early admit.

didn't they say they would be sending us more info on stanford like every month b/c i have yet to recieve anything from them besides the big folder with fin aid...or is that all that they send?

My note said that my essays made him laugh out loud and that I was a great writer! I don't care if he's exaggerating to suck up to me because of yield, I thought it was adorable.

I got one too..

I got one praising my commitment to ALS and my Indian background. And that Stanford was lucky to have me. blush Careful about the ego...

Hey I have gotten one too. Said something that is sadly no longer applicable if I go to Stanford : "Your commitment to tutor others is a wonderful trait." I guess I will get tutored by others if I go over lol.

My note told me that he knew I would take full advantage of the resources at Stanford. It is really amazing that they go out of their way to include personalized notes for all the applicants. It looks like a little sampling of more to come.

Awww...I didn't get a note. :( Was it sent with the acceptence letter?

Great job to those of you who got notes! :) It really is amazing that they'd spend so much effort to write them!

I'm sorry if you're one of the people that fell through the cracks on that one...there's just so many people the office writes notes for...but then again, it might just be taking awhile in the mail. Let's hope so. :-P And yes, you're going to get plenty of attention when you all get here. It's just a bit more effort to get it, since, well, there ARE a ton of people here.

yeah I got one too :D

Hmmm...I hope it's just taking a while in the mail, too. Anyway, I do live in Taiwan, so...well, thanks, jwj. :)

This note wasn't sent with the acceptance letter, was it? Because if it was, then I certainly didn't get one...(Just read the letter over again and emptied the entire contents of the folder :D...didn't mention anything about SUNET IDs either, though. The note probably comes with another letter?)

You guys are making me feel bad ;) Maybe this is a relatively new thing they started? I was admitted in 2003... geez, that sounds so long ago!

I'm sure you would've gotten one if you'd applied this year, celestial! You're an amazing person. :) I guess it's a new thing. I just hope I get a note...

A little more than a month ago, I thought that if I could get an acceptance letter, I wouldn't want anything more. Now, I'm hoping for a handwritten compliment from an admissions officer! Wow, I'm getting greedy...:)

The note is dated January 8, 2007 and came in a separate letter :)

I got one from an admissions officer named Densil as well.

Thanks, Phoenix! :) Now I still have hope.
