Are any of these classes very hard? Would this be a hard first semester schedule?

No FYS?

I think you’re good. They all seem like they’re “medium” classes, so it shouldn’t be too hard to do well in them if you’re organized.

I’m posting mine here, so I won’t start yet another difficulty thread. How does this sound:

Econ 101
Hist 128
Stor 155
IDST 89
LFIT 105 (I’m going to try to get Span 105, so I would drop this and take that in it’s place).

Side note: I already have my associate’s degree, so I have a lot of gen ed. requirements out of the way (I’m still considered a freshman, it was at a middle college).

I intend to double major in Journalism in both the advertising and public relations concentrations.

I am so jealous that you got Poli 150. The one class that I actually wanted haha.

how about mine?

Econ 101
Stor 155
Lfit 110
Roml 060 (but i wanna switch to engl 075 or 063!)
Engl 101
and i’m trying to add 1 other class - i’m thinking jomc 101, poli 208 or 209, or hist 125, 140 or 262. i’m definitely trying for jomc 101 first though.

I wonder if I actually took the easy route for my first semester.

SPAN 105, LFIT 106, ANTH 146, and then RELI 073. I am currently signed up for a theatre class, but I hope to get into GEOL 101 since Psych majors need an extra science and I hope to take BIOL 101 second semester.

Though, I am currently waiting on AP credit to decide my math future.

Me too. its been full pretty much all summer. I guess I’ll be watching it closely come drop add.

Engl 065
Engl 101
Lfit 104
Math 110
WMST 101
Waitlisted: Spanish 203

If I don’t get the spanish I want to try and take PHYA 419 or Phil 101. If I can I want to swap my Engl FYS for the Chem FYS.

I feel like this is a (relatively) easy class load.

In the words of Walt Stack “start slow… then taper off.” I think for the first semester, there is no such thing as “too easy” (unless your courses meet next to none of your pre-reqs).

Is anyone else completely tempted to just scrap their entire schedules and sign up for completely new classes?

ART FYS (Literally the only one open-- hoping to switch to a Bio or Chem FYS)
ENGL 145 (May switch with ENGL 120)
STOR 155
HIST 127 (this looks super boring… I think I want to take something else)
Waitlist: SPAN 203

^ do you know where you are on the waitlist for the Span 203? Which section are you waitlisted for?

^ I’m #4, class 5898. At CTOPs, the guy looked at it and said “those classes are generally pretty small. You might get in or you might not.” I’m hoping that one will open up after the add/drop period starts. What about you?

I’m #1 in 5935, I am hoping because I am at the top of the list I will get the spot but who knows. If no one drops before the waitlist is dumped it won’t even matter where I am on the list.

Yeah, that’s true. I actually wouldn’t be too heartbroken if I didn’t get into 203 this term. It’s the only class I’m really nervous about since I haven’t taken Spanish in a year.

Your schedule looks pretty good- btw. Math 110 and Span 203 would be your more difficult classes, but everything else is cake.

What do you know about the Math 110? I was hoping it would be on the easier side since most of it will be review…

It says:

Math 110: 8.3 difficulty (Heavy)
21% A, 29% B, 25% C, 15% D, 10% F

I don’t think it’ll be too hard, especially if you already have a background in Algebra.

Policy 101 with Gitterman? That class is easy, but more importantly it is interesting and actually pretty fun. Just go to class, do your readings, and you’ll be fine. Gitterman is one of the best prof’s that I’ve had at Carolina.

What section/time does everyone have econ?

Lecture: MWF 9-9:50 Carroll Room 0111 (3317)
Recitation: Th 12:30-1:20 Gardner Rm 0009 (6194)

Lecture: MWF 9-9:50 in Carroll 0111
Recitation: Th 8-8:50 (but i’m trying to change this during drop/add)

Yes it is with Gitterman. Thank you. That is good to hear =]

Do these classes look okay?? :)
