I had questions on the Apartment 500 & Apartment 1000 Dining Plans for those students in Apartments on Campus. Just wondering the cost of each plan, and how many meals per year do each include, and do either include any convenience points. I can’t seem to find any specific info on these plans and was wondering if they would be a good fit for my son.
Just for those times when he may not feel like cooking dinner, or if it may be more convenient to have a meal in a dining hall instead. Thanks!

I can’t remember how much each costs, but the information is sent out via email some time in the summer. You can also email dining@bu.edu to ask for more info.

First semester junior year I had the Apartment 1000. That’s 500 convenience points per semester and I think about 40 something meals? The Apartment 500 plan is half that. I used the points more than the meals-I had several left over by December, so I might just get convenience points for next semester, which will allow me to eat in the dining hall or wherever on campus so I don’t have so many extra meals.

It really depends on how busy your son is and how much he likes to cook. Also how many of his friends still have dining plans? That’s also a big factor. I would definitely give him at least some convenience points though.

Thanks shiningstar for the help. Not 100% sure if he wants a plan or not. He will be in Stuvi 2 next year, and most of his classes tend to be at the other end of campus, so a little concerned that it may not be convenient to go back to the dorm & cook every day.
