Hey guys.
I'm Brazilian and I'm planning to transfer To msu next fall.however, I'd like to know what kind of people I will find there. I'm in Chicago now and although I find people from every race here, most of them are very ignorant to other races. I would like to know how much diversity I will find and how open people are to other races.

I’m not a student, but I don’t think you’ll have a problem with any kind of racism at MSU. I’ve been there plenty of times, and while it is largely populated by in-state, white, suburban individuals, the general culture there is very accepting and laid-back. There are definitely a few international students around, too. For some reason, I also seem to notice a lot of Asians whenever I’m in East Lansing…

I recently had a discussion with one of my friends from Colombia about this very topic. Ignorance on race is pretty low at MSU. The vast majority of people are very tolerant and I have never seen racism on campus. Also, there is a variety of multicultural events on campus that quite a few people participate in. Hope this helps :).
