Do I retake if I know I can do better?

Yes, it's another one of those "Do I retake?" threads.

I first took the SAT as a sophomore without studying just to gauge my score. (Now that I look back, that was unwise. I should have just taken a practice test instead.) I got a 2090 (670 CR, 710 M, 710 WR w/ 10 essay).

As a junior, I took the November SAT, this time with studying, and got a 2300 (740 CR, 760 M, 800 WR w/ 12 essay & 80 MC).

Is it worth it to retake to potentially raise my single sitting or superscore just because I know I can do better in CR and M, or just not bother giving any more SAT money to CB?

I'm perfectly satisfied with my score, but I'm just wondering if I should even consider spending another $49 to take the test again.

Thanks! :)

Your title suggests the answer: you know you can do better.

So… done :)?

With your score it really don’t matter all that much. A 2300 isn’t view all that much differently than a 2400 at the top colleges.

Taking it three times isn’t bad, especially if the first was sophomore year. Go ahead if you think you can do better, especially because the competition can be fierce and the CR/M score is what matters more.

I say you should go for it, since you know you can do better.
