Do UC care if...

Do UC care if you did your 3 years of foreign language in your Freshman,Sophomore, and Senior year rather than finishing all 3 year by the end of your junior year?

Actually only two years are required, though three are recommended (and the highest level completed validates the lower levels). 11 of the 15 a-g subjects must be completed by the end of junior year, though.

http://www.calstate.edu/sas/publications/documents/CSU-UC_a-gMatrix2011-12.pdf

Note that graduation requirements in foreign language may be higher than admission requirement in foreign language.

The number of years recommended, 3, refers to completing that high school level, such as Spanish 3, and if for example, you take Spanish 1 in 8th grade, and Spanish 2 and 3 in freshman and sophomore years, that counts as three years of foreign language. Note that is true for every college that states a number of years requirement or recommendation for language/

Taking it your junior or senior year doesn’t matter. Because in the end it will still be 3 years on the application, because even if you put you’re taking 3rd year spanish your senior year you will still put it in your application which they will verify once you are accepted.
