Do you wish to bear progeny?

Yes/No

And if so,

do you:

a) want to become a Stay at Home Person
b) Plan on taking some time off
c) would put child > career

Just curious ;)

Idea from Philo's thread.

Yes, I want kids. I don’t really plan to take any time off, aside from the first couple of months after birth. Maybe I would cut back on the hours. Either way, I’d still want to work. Gotta put that degree to use.

Nope. No kids. I don’t want or need distractions from success.

Yes i want kids, like 4 or 5, i probably would only take the few months after birth of and cut back on the hours

Why couldn’t this thread just be titled “Do you want kids?”

Oh wait this is College Confidential =)

deep questions yo

I would’t want to bear progeny because getting a complete sex change costs quite a bit of money. And they would have to cut me open and ew.

If you mean have kids, yes. The woman would have to be one of those super career/mothering types.

No, but I would like to adopt. If I could adopt a young(er) child, I’d like to stay home witb him/her and teach him/her until kindergarten or elementary school. Then I’d go back to work.

No, unless I become a foster parent for older kids when I’m middle-aged or retired. Childbirth sounds painful and I don’t like babies all that much.
If I did have children, I would love them and take care of them and probably have to make sacrifices for them, but I wouldn’t be a stay-at-home parent or allow my entire life to revolve around my kids.

First I want to get rich…then maybe Ill adopt some kids from third-world countries.

I want 2 or 4 kids :). Not 3, because one person always gets left out. I would stay with them for a while, then return to work.

I want 1 or 2 kids. I’d take of a couple of months, but that’s it.

Get successful career, then if I feel like it, adopt.

I’ve wanted kids since I was a kid :stuck_out_tongue: well, that’s slightly exxagerated, but still.

I most likely would be a stay at home parent

I like the title as it is.

And no, I don’t want children.

No, because I couldn’t see myself being an extraordinary mother.

I’m a guy, so I see no problems with or without children.

^what does that have to do with being a guy?

^
Historically, men’s lives are less affected when they become fathers. Usually when someone sacrifices their career/personal goals for their kids, it’s the woman.

“If you mean have kids, yes. The woman would have to be one of those super career/mothering types.”

See? He doesn’t think he’ll have to become a super career/fathering type.

I’m a guy and wouldn’t mind being a stay-at-home dad if I could homeschool my children.

Also, I’m certain that many of the naysayers will be changing their minds eventually. Biology is a strong force.

NOPE. I hate kids. 'Nuff said. Yes, this means I hated myself as a kid.
