Does Berkeley Have a Pre-Med Advisors/Committee?

There isn't any centralized pre-med advisors? The closest ones I found were just counselors in Career Center but even there, there are no official pre-med advisors.

yeah. it absolutely sux the premed advising at the career center :/

no we don’t, but UCLA does. lol :(

We seriously need to erect a “THIS UNIVERSITY DOES NOT PRODUCE DOCTORS” sign outside Sather Gate.

Have you read the information here[/url”>https://career.berkeley.edu/Medical/Medical.stm]here?

Yeah, it’s funny because Berkeley has one of the highest numbers of med school applicants in the country.

We supply the most Asian applicants. =)

Quick question: where do Berkeley psychology BA students do their research at? In UCSF Med centers, in medical centers/hospitals? thanks!

the reason why I am asking the question above is because we have a family friend who works at Berkeley as an accountant and he told me that pre-meds do similar volunteer works, internships, and research as students going for a BA in Psych in Berkeley.

Berkeley needs less premeds. Apparently 85% of IB majors are on some type of pre-health track.

IB has too many pussies who ***** out of MCB to get good GPAs

Anyone know any good counselors at Career Center for pre-med advising??

There are no good counselors at the Career Center for pre-med advising. I went once, they give terrible advice.

Do you think IB is really much different than MCB? in terms of attaining a good gpa?

oh it’s clueless. not answering the question then.

Is UCLA,UCSD, and UC Davis better schools to do pre-med than Berkeley? (As those first three schools have medical schools/centers?)

the easiest school = best school to do pre-med in. might as well go to cal-state.

@mechrocket, I meant to say among the UC’s.

Berkeley has too many damn pre-meds. Oh well, most of them will give up by the end of their second semester of freshmen year anyways lol.

**** we have more premeds than UCLA now…

Yes, MCB grades extremely difficultly. The average grade MCB gives out is a 2.96, IB 3.3.

True, but do you want to actually learn science? Or just do hours of rote memorization?

do you guys think doing pre-med in a csu is better than a UC?
