Does This Make ANY Sense?

I am in state and got rejected from Rutgers College and Livingston. They said I can go to newark. That's entertaining.

530 M 570 V 600W

GPA:3.8

GPA went from 3.2 to 4.3 frosh to senior year.

I thought my personal statement was pretty good.

How the hell did I not get in? I have no desire to go there, but it kind of hurts my character.

I don't get into my own state school, but somehow get into Penn State UP. Wow.

And yes I made the priority deadline

Is your GPA weighted? I guess your'e 1700 combined SAT score is kinda low. Rutgers makes decisions solely based on GPA and SAT so even if you're personal statement was excellent, they might not have taken that into consideration. If your 3.8 GPA is unweighted, then yeah it is weird they didn't take you.

SATs are VERY important to rutgers. Most people can get in on SATs alone, so low ones will significantly hurt your chances.

Wow thats serious. I can't believe you got rejected. There are kids in my school who got in with much lower SAT scores than yours and with a much lower GPA. I believe this one kid in my school got in with a 1550 on the new SAT and a 3.5 GPA. That makes no sense at all.
