I keep getting emails from the UCSD Jacobs school of engineering. Are all engineering applicants getting these? Does it mean anything?
I'm really nervous and I jump every time the phone rings.
I have a GPA of 4.5 (perfect unweighted) and ACT of 31.
Just rejected from UCLA and it really stings. I want a phone call now, this has been my favorite school since age 4. :(

There was a thread about these emails from that school a few weeks back some people said they didn’t get them in that thread and I know someone that applied for engineering that didn’t get those emails either (at least from what he said). But someone also said that they got the emails but didn’t get in. So it may not be a letter meaning you’re in solely because you get it, but it might be an indication that your/our chances are good. I got those emails too btw. But you should hardly worry, I doubt UCSD could reject anyone with your stats.

Thanks spacedog. Very reassuring, but they do regularly reject people with my stats, especially San Diego natives for some reason.

It’s my dream school. Anyone know if they’re calling people on the weekend?

Oh and also, quick second question: I received a blank email from them yesterday, it just said Dear_____, without anything else. What am I supposed to think of that? :/

Never mind, I’m in! :D
