Dorm w/ no AC

Found out that I’m getting a dorm with no AC, which I’m completely fine about.
Do these dorms get dreadfully hot?

No AC for the first couple of weeks is fine, knowing that PA has some brutal winters…

Bring a fan and you should be fine. Nights are cool in the northeast.

Thanks. And another question, is there a microwave in Harris’ Kitchen?

You can bring your own microwave or use the one at the Bison (2 minute walk tops and you can eat with your friends then!) =]

Harris basement actually does have a full kitchen–full size fridge, oven w/ stove, microwave, lots of counter space. I lived in Harris my freshman year (2009-2010) and didn’t want a microwave in my room (easy mac and popcorn can smell up a room for days!) and had no problem using the microwave in the common area.

Also, I recommend a window fan. They provide the best constant airflow. Only the first 2 weeks or so will be hot in the dorm anyway. The couple of May weeks can get hot, but aren’t usually too bad. In the winter maintenance will have the heat in the building on so high that you probably won’t even want your room’s heater on!

Thanks, swim4gold83! Sounds good - can’t wait!
