I confirmed my enrollment at the university but was unaware that the housing deposit had to be in by yesterday...will this mean I wont get housing? I was admitted to the university honors program.

I suggest you call them first thing Monday and beg. Does the system allow you to pay the housing deposit? If so, go ahead and pay it, and still call on Monday.

THERE WAS A HOUSING DEPOSIT??? ahhh! i was entirely unaware!!! was it the $400 deposit to confirm enrollment?

sorry for the confusion, i was talking about the form to confirm housing, it wasnt necessarily a deposit. i left them a voicemail, sent them an email, rush mailed the form, and faxed it to them…to think i was only a few hours late when i found out about it :/… hopefully they will be understanding

I don’t think there was a housing ‘deposit’…just confirmation of housing and meal plan. Please correct me if that’s not the case.

No, brain cramp in action here for me. There was NO housing deposit. It was just a form to confirm housing. I think you’ve done everything you needed bigmike, I can’t believe they won’t give you housing. However, this year the housing assignments are made in the order that the housing confirmation was sent in. You could likely end up in a triple, since yours will be so late in the game (you could request housing after you were accepted but before you actually enrolled this year). When D1 was applying to UMD 2 years ago, it was all tied together. Since she was waiting on a couple competitive schools with really late notification dates, she didn’t enroll/apply for housing until the end of April, and she was in a (planned) triple in Denton. It wasn’t that bad; and for guys it’s usually better…they don’t tend to bring as much “stuff” as girls do. Good luck! Let us all know what happens!

thanks for your support astrophysicsmom! ill let everyone know first thing tomorrow morning

okay, thanks everyone for clearing up the confusion
