I sent in my SIR... for housing should i choose arroyo vista or residence halls? Which is better overall and close to classes? Can I apply for housing but have the option to change my mind and stay at home?

Arroyo Vista is wayyy too far from most classes. It's residence hall-style living primarily reserved for sophomores and above, but with very few accomodations for incoming freshmen (who are generally honors students, I believe). However, it's right next to the gym, should that be of interest to you.

I'm a transfer student who made the choice between AV and Campus Village. A few of the reasons I chose Campus Village because it's conveniently close to my classes and Mesa Commons.

If you want the whole freshman experience, then look no further than the residence halls (Mesa Court and Middle Earth).

As for your last question...I'm pretty sure you could. All you have to risk is $20 for the housing application fee, and hopefully you'll have enough time to decide where you want to live by the time contracts are due.
