I applied to the Preston Tisch Center of Hospitality for a the Hospitality Management. I would like to go into this field but i feel like the major is a little too narrow meaning I would like the opportunity to take broader business classes in areas such as finance and economics. I have gone through the entire curriculum and course descriptions and I strongly feel that it won't be enough for what I'm planning with my future career. I feel like I will need to take additional classes to learn the most but I have noticed that those extra classes are in Stern. I have considered trying to transfer to Stern if I go to NYU but those chances are slim from what I have been reading. What opportunities are there at NYU can I take to help me learn stuff in hospitality but also an education in finance. I noticed there were Stern classes for Non-Stern students but that was very vague on the website. Can anyone give details on this? Also I was considering doing a double major with Hospitality Management and something else. Are my only options for a double major in CAS? I noticed two business related things in CAS- business studies and economics. Is it possible to do something with both of those and hospitality management such as a double major+a minor? I really want to go to NYU but I would like an education that will help my career goal. Everything is so vague on the NYU website and I would like to know that if I go there everything will be fine academically. I have the option of going to a local state school but the education isn't as good and I dont really want to stay close to home. The only thing is this state school lets you do anything possible with your major/minor. I need to know how flexible NYU is with this. I really want to go to NYU and I dont want the education be the reason I dont go. I have looked through the threads and nowhere is it mentioned about Hospitality management + business. Any advice?

anyone have a suggestion??
can someone at least tell me if I can double major in economics (cas) if im in preston tisch hospitality? is this possible?

Gallatin. Daughter had same problem–was torn between sports management and history/economics. That’s what she said in her “why NYU?” essay, and specifically, that “Gallatin is the answer.” Guess they agreed, 'cause they let her in.

I started thinking about Gallatin too now. Except since I applied to Preston Tisch Center, I would have to transfer into Gallatin. Does anyone have any knowledge on this and how difficult it is? Is it impossible like the Stern transfer mentioned alot on here?

ok I’m actually in the same dilemma as you considering I attend. I was going to ask an NYU counselor if I could double major in the Paul McGhee Undergraduate Program B.S. in Leadership and Management Studies after freshman year.

[B.S. in Leadership and Management Studies | New York University - SCPS](<a href=“Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies | NYU SPS”>Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies | NYU SPS)

I looked at the Paul McGhee requirements and it required the student to be 19 years old and out of high school for one year.

I’m wondering if this is possible…
