I have had trouble finding information about this on the GU website. I was admitted to SFS, and so while I would not be able to double major in something through the College (at least this is what I've heard), could I at least minor in something in the College?

Anyone have any links or additional information about this?

No double majors in the SFS ever. No “minors” either. The SFS equivalent to the minor is the certificate. See [Certificate Programs - Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) - Georgetown University](Certificates & Minors - SFS - School of Foreign Service - Georgetown University)

The separate school systems at Georgetown are oddly rigid; it’s something they are slowly working on. While you cannot officially double major across schools, you can take classes. As a non-major, you will get lower priority during registration, but you should be able to take all of the intro/lower level courses that would comprise a “minor”. Having a minor on your diploma really won’t make a difference. You can always mention at interviews/on your resume that you have completed certain coursework.

Depending on how close you get with the other departments, you may be able to work something out. I know a classmate who is graduating with a finance-math double major (which should be impossible but apparently not for him).
