Uhhmmm. No. Aloha and Hawaiian shirt are synonymous. Just do a little searching.
Not in the knowledge about what is being worn to JB concerts… never been to one and have no desire.

The aloha shirts the professionals wear to work are not the Jimmy Buffet fan ones. Here is an example. They are more refined.
Aloha shirt (aka Hawaiian shirt) refers to a specific shirt cut. The fabric can be pretty much anything… of course professionals wear more subdued patterns. But pretty much anything goes.

I also thought aloha and Hawaiian shirts were the same.
I’ve always called all of those types of shirts Hawaiian shirts.
I am thinking about ordering a couple of linen dresses from Garnet Hill. Sale ends today May 10.
Marika skorts on Zulily.
@mom60 - which ones? Ooohhh. Dress shopping.

I think I waited to long as most colors are sold out
I ordered the new Rothy’s slide sandals today in black. I’ll report back once they arrive. Looks like they have a contoured footbed.
All I know is that when ds went to Hawaii there was a specific BRAND of Hawaiian/Aloha (whatever the proper term is) shirt that he wanted to purchase. Supposed to be the established, quintessential brand of this type of shirt. But, I don’t recall the name of it. It was more expensive than I expected it to be (and more than he typically spends), but he wanted some level of authenticity, I think?? Though colorful, his is definitely a more refined/subdued pattern.
@mom60 - both of those dresses are darling. I just cannot wear a shift type dress at all though.
Shift style works best for my body shape.
I think I’ve save a lot of money this spring as I’ve bought very little.
@mom60 - it’s beneficial when we can know what does and does not work for our individual body shapes.
I have spent far less money on clothes than usual.
I spent maybe 20% of what I would normally spend on clothes and shoes! I am slowly making it up. Got these Ecco slip ons for walking. They are super soft… and no laces!

These are definitely not running shoes even though Ecco calls them runners. But they are perfect for brisk walking.
@Hoggirl — Reyn’s spooner is one of the more popular brands of aloha shirts worn by professionals in HI. The shirts are more than I spend on shirts (>$100 apiece). Costco has very nice looking ones for $20, as do many other places. I think their low sale price if Reyn’s shirts may go as low as $45 or gasp—even lower.
@HImom - After reading this discussion, I texted ds. You knew exactly what brand is was!
He only bought one.
D20 likes to consider herself somewhat of a “fashionista”, so not going to school this spring has saved us (and her) a lot of money!
My trainer turned me on to Nobull sneakers and I have since recommended them to so many folks that I should receive a commission! I don’t care for the trainers, but love the knit runners. They come in fun colors, are super comfortable and cute enough to wear around even when not exercising. They tend to sell out quickly which is a bummer.
I just ordered this in Rose color size 0. The standardize shipping cost is $14.95! You people need to stop posting these links! This is a very expensive coping mechanism for me
I sent my son who wanted a Tommy Bahama shirt the link for Reyn Spooner shirts. Seems they’re doing a brisk business.
I guess people who can’t go are getting the “Reyn shirt” instead.
@Nhatrang, once you order one thing from garnet hill, I’ve found that they send me free shipping emails now. And yes, their shipping rates are highway robbery
@deb922
I got this in the mail:
Thank you for your purchase.
Love what you bought? Share us!
Refer a Friend to Garnet Hill and you’ll both enjoy $30 off a purchase of $100.
I may just sell my friend’s email address for $30
