I'm about to graduate and I still don't have my license. Driving makes me anxious. I might practice a bit during the end of the year and early summer and take the test once I turn 18...we'll see.

Of course, having to bum rides off juniors is probably the best motivation I've had yet to get my license. It's kind of embarrassing to be driven home from Quiz Bowl practice by the kids you were just bossing around.

aahhh, i don't have my license either and will be starting college this august...i don't know how i am going to go to college everyday for the first 2 months...what sucks is that i won't turn 18 until december. so, i can't wait until december to get my license, i'll just do 'parent taught' and will get my license by october.

To be blunt, if you can't afford drivers ed, can you really afford the costs associated with a car (the car itself, gas, and insurance)?

I'd just wait until you're 18 at this point in time.

But otherwise, the $400 may completely be worth it in the long run for the insurance discount (I really don't know the insurance costs in Hawaii, but here they are ridiculously insane).

how much does insurance usually cost? and no, i wont be staying here, ill probably be going to college in NY or back in PA. gas prices here are insane, i think they just hit $4/ gal. my mom has a prius hybrid and it still costs a lot!

it's not so much peer pressure as it is just being able to drive. there aren't very many buses here, therefore it's hard to get to places. you can't really walk anywhere since everything is so spread out! it sux

Just get a job if you can't pay...

I'm a junior, and while I've had my license since December of '06, most of my friends still don't have theirs. It's not really a big deal, kinda convenient, but usually there are enough people with licenses it's not a big deal for those who don't have them yet.

I'm a senior and I don't have my license...haha
