Hey Guys:
Here is a little background info to my situation...

I'm 100% positive that I'm going to be majoring in business when I'm in college, and I feel that AP Chemistry is just a huge waste of my time and effort...

My solution to that is that I would drop AP Chemistry and continue with these classes
(11th grade):

CLASSES_

CP Chemistry
CP US HISTORY
AP STATISTICS
AP MICRO ECONOMICS (nearby community college)
AP MACRO ECONOMICS (nearby community college)
CP Math Analysis ( Pre-Calc )
CP English 3
Spanish 2

OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES_
Photography Business // Charity Work
Internship for an import/export corporation ( Basic Finances, Run Events, Operations Manager, Photography )
Orchestra
Community Work

Do you think it's a good idea to drop AP CHEM and focus on these business related classes?(I would be taking AP MICRO/MACRO + Others)

Thanks alot for the input. I’d like to apply to USC as a business major, and I feel like it’d be much better to show that I have taken business related subjects.

I’ve been getting alot of mixed replies, so I’d like to get some more inputs. Thanks alot guys!

If you feel like it’s a waste of time, then drop it. But It satisfies the science requirement in college I think. Do what you think will benefit you the most. High school science AP classes are easier and you’ll get more one on one time with your teacher, unlike in a college science class where you are referred by your social security number and there are less one on one time the professor.

do you think it’d be detrimental if I did drop it?

I’d be taking 1 AP class in school and a couple outside at a local community college.
Since AP Tests are all equally hard, I don’t see a downside to it. I’d still be taking 3+ AP Classes.

No, because not everyone is good at Chemistry, your with many other students who drop AP Chemistry. Since you are majoring in business, you don’t have to take a science class. Some students in my school only stop at Honors Chemistry, or Fundamentals of Chemistry. Judging from your reply, you seem like you want to drop it, which is completely fine. If you have no interest, then say goodbye to chemistry. :)
