me too! unless i get some money from them, I will most likely end up at Penn State honors :-

Go Nittany Lions!

Haha, yeah I guess so!

Unless I get money - and even then, perhaps - my heart's still set on Brown

lol, I got deferred from Brown and I'm feeling spiteful :-P

Childish? Perhaps!

hahaa it's okay man :P I would be if I did ED too.

I got one...Kinda strange cause my heart was set on Stanford, and I was rejected SCEA. Soooo, I'm the best in Duke's eyes and the worst in Stanford's? Admissions is stupid.

sure is...but whatever :) least someone wants ya

yeah and that someone is duke so don't feel too bad now ;)

same thing happened to me.

rejected scea at stanford, sent a duke likely letter.

***?

do you think that i could get a likely letter if my interview was last week? or would they wait for that report to come back before deciding?

well it looks like they have already decided upon the 350 in this likely letter. but you might get a different likely letter

I got a likely letter too :D. Does anyone have an idea of what percent of the 350 do the sholarship interviews and what percent do the Up Close program? Either way, it's pretty awesome that they're flying us all the way there. Congrats to others who got the letter.

i got a likely too. congrats to all the others who got it

Princeton your interview has no bearing. I got my interview call today

You might get another likely letter in a second mailing though!

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm happy about this. Once i got over stanford, my new first choices became Princeton, Duke, and Wharton. So looks like its all good.

Does these Likely Letters send to the International Applicants as well. Cannot imagine if they would pay the trip for someone who lives in places like Singapore or Hong Kong

ooh i wanna know this too.

I am wondering if those who applied for a Robertson scholar might be less likely to get a likely letter. The letter invited the 350 students to visit the school in April are probably I am guessing being sent to those who Duke is very interested in and may or may not have visited the campus already and are likely to get accepted but have not applied for any merit scholarships. I cannot imagine Duke sending the letter to those waiting to hear if they are a finalist in the Robertson Scholars program, because those waiting to hear are notified the end of March that they will have a telephone interview if they are a semifinalist and if they are a semi finalist they will be invited to the campus in March.
Duke received I am estimating around 2,000 nominations for the Duke Robertson Scholarship and the program selects about 60 who will receive the scholarship - half to Duke and half to UNC. At leaast 150 I believe are finalists who will be invited to visit in March.

My D received a likely letter yesterday and applied for the Robertson (for both Duke and UNC) so I don't think it has any effect. BTW she was very excited to get the letter since it was so unexpected.
