What are some of your stats of those who got the letters?

Nothing special. I think my essays really helped.

2350 SATI, 4.0 UW GPA, 4.81 WGPA... uh random SATIIs between 710 and 800.

34 ACT, 4.03ish GPA, NIH research (published) abstract

2330 SAT I. 800 x 3 SAT II's. Valedictorian. 115 on AMC 12 and 5 on AIME. Medical Research. Lots of state math and science awards. Nothing crazy.

Oh yeah... 1400 hours of organic/radiochem research at NIH - unpublished so far.

And my essay was about how I'm addicted to lawnmowing - hehe it's the clincher.

I think all 350 are on CC.

I can't help with info about the scholarship weekend, but I do know about the upcoming Blue Devil Days. :)

Hahaa all 350 on CC... wouldn't be surprised.

Ohhh man. Can't wait to hit up some parties !

me too man, me too

(fengshui: just out of curiosity, did you apply PLME to Brown?)

Yeppers but it don't matter if I don't get it. I've been flirting with law lately and also I'd take Brown PLME or not really :P

Yeah, being a second semester senior is cool to be in. I can ditch my classes, smoke weed, drink, and party all day. Its so fricken awesome.

Hell yeah, that's what being a senior is all about right there

So...if we haven't gotten a letter yet, should we not expect one? I mean, I'm not expecting one anyways, but there's always a glim ray of hope.

In other news I got in at Rollins with similar status in that I am one of 55 finalists for the 10 full rides they give out!

Well, I think they were dated January 31, so you probably should have gotten one by now. Congrats on Rollins though.

Where are you all from, likely letter kids? I'm just wondering if anyone in the midwest (KS) has gotten one yet.

Not sure...I'm from around Philadelphia and I got mine a few days ago

Mmm.. makes me nervous. I got into Yale SCEA and likely letters from UVA (finalist for Jefferson's) and UNC but no word yet from Duke. Eek.

No one has heard about Robertson's yet, right?

Wow... finalist for Jefferson? Congrats! I didn't get past the second round!

jegan, I live in Tennessee.

fengshui, I was one of the at-large finalists. So it was easier for me in that I didn't have to do any of the interview "rounds" but harder in that I had no idea I was going to be picked out of the whole applicant pool, lol. What a shock that phone call was!

Where else did you apply besides Duke? Is UVa your first choice?

Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, UMD-CP, UVA, Johns Hopkins, URochester, Boston University.

I'm not very keen on going to JHU, URochester or Boston... just sorta safety schools. Brown is far and away my top. But if I get good money from duke as opposed to Brown it will be a tough choice. UVA was only on the radar for JeffScholars, they have a neurosci major but I just think it'd be really too conservative for me (and dartmouth is the same - but also isolated). I like brown's culture a lot.

Hopefully I'll have a good experience at duke in April. I know it's not known as an artsy hip place, but if the atmosphere is good then who knows? :P
